    Attention vegan mission burrito lovers!

Don't believe the hype! This place does not live up to the "Super Burrito" claim. As someone who is always on the lookout for a burrito that can come close to SF's Mission District's reputation for flavor, etc, I hate to say, Castro's will dissapoint you. Don't get me wrong, they do have big burritos, but their salsa is not good, their guacamole lacked flavor, and don't expect cilantro, cuz you won't find any. The veggie burrito I had was 99% rice (and not even spanish rice), filled with bland veggies, and no refried beans. This place was a total snooooze.

    Get the Castro Special Burrito

Their burritos are the size of my head and they are delicious! I eat one for lunch and I don't even get hungry for dinner. The service is amazing and I respect that it is a family owned authentic Mexican Restuarant.

    Awesome!

I'm glad that Castros finally got added to menupages so that I can rave about how great their food is. I usually get the chicken enchiladas with green sauce and it is always really good--they use dark meat parts of the chicken, so it's not all dried out. Their tostadas are also perfect, as is the tinga de pollo--a sort of red spicy chicken stew. Castro's is a great place to have breakfast or brunch because they produce the platonic ideal of huevos rancheros.

    fresh, delicious, cheap

The decor isn't very fancy, but the food here is amazing--authentic, plentiful, and delicious. The avocado on my salad was so fresh, and the sopes and tacos are incredible! Their juices are terrific and the service is so nice. One of my favorite places, especially in the summer when you can sit outside.

    Yummy Mexican Breakfast!

WORTH EVERY PENNY! Orderd breakfast burritos for delivery, food arrived fast & still hot. It's nothing fancy, but simple, yummy and very filling. Would DEFINITELY order from here again.

    There is no better!

I am a longtime diehard fan. Real good homestyle Mexican for cheap and they deliver ! Amazing breakfast burritos for $5. Real good huevos rancheros too. Orgasmic guacamole. You must try their mole sauce. I am vegetarian and a huge fan of the cheese enchiladas in mole. Oh yes and their chile rellenos are SUPER! I love the chile relleno tortas(sandwich). You should just see the food I get here for 8 dollars(their delivery minimum).
