Why do I keep bothering . . . ?
I've been coming to Castro's on and off for years (I've lived in the neighborhood for over 20), and my average success rate is about 1 time in 5. The service has consistently been dreadful. Their delivery system is a mess. But on the rare occasion that it works, it's fantastic! But no more. They used to have the best chicken soup for miles around. Today it was a bowl of undercooked chicken in water with some kernels of corn and a carrot. Repulsive! I give up!

Love it!
My favorite mexican place in all of NYC! I'm vegetarian and there are plenty of choices! The Chile Relleno sandwich is my favorite!

Not enough
Not enough food for the price you pay. If you order tacos there should be some rice accompanied by it. Not a small tub of rice. 90 dollars for very little food. The lady who takes the order has an attitude. Very frustrating when I call.

never dissaponted!!
I have tried almost every dish and I am never diappointed! The atmosphere is always lively, the sevice is awsome and the food is amazing!!

Can't beat it!
Not anywhere nearby anyhow. Try the chilaquiles for breakfast and the sopa azteca for lunch.

Solid Mexican - slow for delivery
Really like this place -- the soft and hard tacos are great, especially the steak and chorizo (chicken tends to be very dry, not seasoned). Burritos are great, and the people who work there are really nice and accomodating. Only thing is that their delivery service is slow - waited an hour for a few tacos, and I live 5 blocks away. Still, one of the better budget Mexican places in the area.

OK so I was a bit harsh
I had the "vegetarian" shrimp burrito last night... urp! It was really good and there were actually shrimp in it...
