Steak and onions are awesome! Pork chops are also great!
The food is really good and the employess are very nice to the customers. It's not a fancy place but a nice little family type place to sit and grab a quick meal.

Love Castillo!!
I have to agree wit the others about the chuletas! They're great, but I'd advise you to try other menu items as well. My boyfriend swears by their chicharron de pollo, and I love the pollo frito. He gets his meals with tostones on the side, I get either fries or rice&beans. He also usually gets a couple patelitos (empanadas) which are cheap and great on the go. One time I was on the run and needed something I could take on the train that didn't require hands or forks, so I got the chicken cutlet sandwich so I could just eat it out of the foil. It wasn't spectacular, but it more than did the trick, especially for $5! Amazing deal. I've gotten the chicken cutlet meal before, and the cutlets needed ketchup to be flavorful, but I like that they didn't oversalt it and I don't like things to be too salty. It's easier to add something than to take away. I was going to give atmosphere a 3, but I don't want to drive down the reviews. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the atmosphere for a take-out place, I've never eaten in there, but it's not meant to be a fancy type of place. You either order take-out, or you sit for a quick casual meal. I live right around the corner and I'm glad to consider this one of the only 3 take-out places in the area that I order from. My boyfriend is Dominican and the fact that this place was a 10 second walk from our apartment was a major selling point.

best pork chops!
The Best chops in the area if not all of Brooklyn... a little pricey, but a huge portion of food and tastes incredible! better than my mom's (shhhh) dont be fooled by the storefront.. kinda bland looking with the food behind a glass counter, but you will have a great meal.

Grandma at her best!
I have never been to this place but have ordered delivery from them first time yesterday....and wow! It reminded me of the first time I tried my boyfriends grandmothers cooking...fresh and simple rib sticking ingredients that are the true definitive to comfort food. I ordered the pork chops (2 thick cuts of pork w rice and beans), tostones, and the bistec w onions. everything was just so good. Oh and the banana milk shake is a must have too! (you may want to order 2)
