Great E. Village Restaurant
Went here on a date on Bastille Day. We were seated right away at 9pm and the restaurant was full. The outdoor seating was a 30 min. wait so we ate inside in a corner table. We had a great bottle of Mersault wine (only 58.00 here versus 90.00 at other restaurants) and blue point oysters and a salad to start. Very fresh and timely service. Our main meal of mussels and halibut was perfectly presented and was very good as well as the spinach. The crowd was eclectic and it was definitely not pretentious. For dessert we shared the pear and the sorbet and both were excellent. I would return here with friends, or on a date. It's an excellent find in the E. Village.

A must try brasserie!
My boyfriend and I just ate here Saturday night. We had a great time. The food was really good - amazing seared tuna. The space was dimly lit with votive candles on every table. Good place for groups as well as a date. The prices are very reasonable. Beautiful outdoor seating in the back of the restaurant as well. It's worth going all the way downtown for.

Cozy but Slow
We went there a couple of times, it's a cozy place crowded Friday nights. The food is a little expensive but is ok, good presentation and taste. The only problem is that we had to wait like 40 min for the food each time and so dinner is like 2 hrs or almost 3 in a crowded dark place..not very comfortable after a while...

Gorgeous
I found myself at Casimir last night, a random Tuesday. The plan was to have a simple glass of wine with friends. Six bottles, one amazing steak tartar, one plate of mussels, one deliciously simple plate of pasta, one profiterole, and four hours later, we left with extraordinary smiles and undamaged wallets. The service was sublime- our waitress was very helpful, friendly and attentive. And beautiful I might add. I?ll definitely be back.

Never disappoints
With the exception of the duck confit, everything on the menu is excellent. Casimir is one of my favorite neighborhood restaurants. They have never failed to disappoint me. I find the dinner to be better than the brunch, although the brunch is above average. It is a delightful neighborhood place that can stand up their with Pastis without the pretension. I find the staff to always be friendly and in a good mood. Visit the garden during the summer- it manages to feel both open and intimate simultaneously. I hope others enjoy place as much as i have!

Average Food, Ridiculous Crowd
I found the food to be pretty average french bistro-ish. The service was cheerful (with the exception of the host) but lax (including the host) and the crowd was grating. If it wasn't such a scene I might go back, but the loud Sutton Place expatriot scene was just too obnoxious. I will admit that watching all the drunken first date drama in the 'lounge' area was mildly entertaining.

The good and the bad...
Good food, fair service and great atmosphere... The food for brunch takes a while to get really but it's def. worth waiting...Go for dinner during the week because friday and saturday is packed...you will have to wait for a table and the manager can be rude...
