We went for lunch, ordered a burger and steak tartare. The steak tartare-prepared table side by a snotty waitress was drenched in dijon mustard and ketchup ( can you believe it? Ketchup in that beautifull steak). Inedible! The burger smelled and tasted of smoke from an unclean grill- literally inedible. We went hungry, we left hungry but not before we paid the bill for food that we could not eat. Service lost it's meaning in this restaurant.

I have been to this restaurant over the past 15 years and have NEVER felt more welcome than with the present staff and cuisine. The food is always well-prepared and carefully done, the prices are reasonable for UES, and the staff is wonderful! Fun, warm, but not over-solicitous. Highly recommended!

Our waiter's initial appearance was with pad in hand, asking if we were ready to order. No specials overviews, no taking drink orders. Once drinks had been requested, he remained with pad in hand, awaiting our order. We had barely seen the menu. The restaurant should not take 8 pm reservations if it doesn't want the business. Water glasses were never refilled without long-delayed requests, food was not cooked to order and not fixed when sent back, long (25-35- minute) waits ensured between dinner and dessert ordering and we had to go looking for our check when we were abandoned after coffee/tea - there was no one else on the second floor at the time, so the waiter wasn't busy elsewhere. A truly disappointing, almost bizarre, experience.
