A great option
We started ordering delivery from Cassanova after being let down by other pizza places in the area (Carmine's, Shmooks, I'm lookin at you here) and it's very good. Not the best pizza in the area, but still excellent, and at least when you order it you know your pizza/food will show up in a reasonable amount of time. The dinner dishes are excellent, I've never tried anything that I didn't like, and some (like the gnocci) while slightly expensive, are an awesome deal for the amount of food and quality you get.

Non-Hipster Viewpoint
I've been been going to Casanova's since it opened in 1973. My friends and I appreciated that it was open 24 hours on the weekends. The owner and his spoon squad behind the counter were always friendly and courteous to everyone. Please ignore the reviews posted by pretentious hipsters whose idea of a good dining experience is limited to the number of obscure brands of beer offered by an establishment. Concerning the atmosphere, get real! This is a pizzeria. Casanova's doesn't plaster the place with Thrift Store throwaways just to indulge in some hipster's retro-geek inetrior decorating ideals. The slices and heros are the some of the best to be found in Greenpoint/Williamsburg. Casanova's also offers a fantastic seafood pasta and, their veal marsala ain't shabby, either. You want pretentious go to Hipster Central, Williamsburg. There are plenty of joints more than happy to relieve you and your 15 roomates of your geld in exchange for some third-rate chow. If you want good, affordable eats without listening to the waiter/waitress's annoying ramble about his/her latest acting gig, go to Casanova's. You won't be disappointed.

Not bad, not the greatest
The reviewer who said they act like they're doing you a favor to serve you is right. The food is not bad, some things are pretty good, but ordinary. Just slightly more expensive than similiar food elsewhere nearby.

I live close by and...
have eaten here multiple times and its hit or miss.Pizza by the slice never seems fresh and the crust is often very well done if not black. The sauce is mediocre at best, and if you dont remind the guy who puts them in the oven you'd better like it black on the bottom, tough, and dry, with blisters on the cheese. You'll do much better to order a whole fresh pie, particularlty the Grandma Pie.Beyond that you will find much less expensive and far superior eats a few blocks a way. I will say that the waitstaff is top notch...

Ok
I felt like they were doing me a favor by serving me my meal. Food was OK and the portions were smaller than most. The only thing that saved the meal is they never say no when you order alcohol.By the time dinner is over you forget how disappointing the meal was.
