We ate at this restaurant last night for my husband's birthday and it was poor all around. The appetizer we ordered, Antipasto Caldo, was unappetizing (eggplant was a pile of mush with cheese, mussels weren't good, shrimp had no flavor) and it took forever for the waiter to remove our plate and bring our main entree. They never came to refill our tea or water, even after asking. We took a few bites of our entrees and had to ask for the check, they weren't even worth eating. The risotto was basically just rice, not typical risotto you find in other restaurants. The food was very bland. My husband had the Risotto Frutti Di Mare and I had a special of shrimp stuffed with crab meat that had no flavor, I only ate one shrimp and a few bites of rice. I think the restaurant is way over priced for the quality of food they serve. If the food was great it would have been worth it, but not for what we received. The waiter didn't seem to notice or care that we didn't even touch our food. The lady at the table next to us sent her cake back because she said it had gone sour. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, which we should have taken as a sign, but it was the only place that didn't have a wait on Saturday night so we took a chance. Now we know why it was empty. We would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, it was our poorest dining out experience so far.

Absolutely love this restaurant, food is fabulous, inexpensive wine list, excellent staff and not expensive. Been here a couple of times and have never been disappointed. Large portions with enough to take home and enjoy again. If you are in Carroll Gardens run don't walk to Casa Rosa!!!
