Beyond disappointing
The outdoor seating was pleasant, and the service was adequate. That's pretty much it for the good news. The food was absolutely awful. We started with fried calamari - rubbery and tasteless. I ordered the margherita pizza - a cheese pizza which I'm fairly certain was frozen and reheated. The edges were burnt, while the center was cold and the center "crust" was just chewy dough. I like good pizza, but I'm not a pizza snob and can eat pretty much anything - I ate one piece and left the rest behind. Also, I always thought that margherita pizza included basil and a drizzle of olive oil, but when I mentioned that to the waiter, he insisted it just means "cheese pizza" only. Hmm. My friend had the linguini with clams and he said that the pasta was half cooked, half crunch as though not all of the linguini made contact with the boiling water. The clams were "vulcanized rubber" and the sauce was watery. The $35 pitcher of sangria was fine. Gratuity was included even though we were a party of two, so $103 for this barely-eaten meal was exhorbitant.

Decent food great outdoor ambiance
Just picked it walking down the street! Service was adequate not over whelming nor lacking. Food was good and plentiful. Was it the best Italian? No, but everything was fresh and not over cooked. Baby ARtichoke appetizer special was excellent.

Horrible!
went for dinner there with two other people....it took them hours to finally come and give us some bread...the olive oil came 30 mins later..after we asked for it 5 times...the portions were tiny...bland and stale.....the worst part was..they added a 20% tip..to the bill themselves... will never go there again!

subpar
a very poor experience! the waiters were not very nice and the portion size was small. there didnt seem any sense of acknowledgement from him and one woud expect the food to be good- but there was nothing great in the taste of the food. we were a party of three and were sort of duped by the waiter for the prices.

Poor Food & Poorer Service!
One of the poorest dining experiences ever. Our waiter was rude, unattentive, & very unfriendly. My linguini with clams was completely unappetizing. The linguini was completely dry, cold, and had only a little cream sauce underneath it on the bottom of the bowl, as if they had put some sauce in and thrown dry pasta on top. The clams were so subpar that I am pretty sure I've had better in a canned soup! I had chocolate cake for dessert, giving them a chance to redeem themselves- but the cake was not moist at all & the frosting was hard. Our waiter never came over to check on us, ask if things were okay or if we needed anything. We had to ask a bus boy if he could find someone who we could order some drinks from because our waiter was again no where in sight. The 4 of us were shocked to be treated so poorly. We didn't understand how you could give such a lack of service and still make good tips. We literally saw our waiter only 2 times during the hour and a half we were there, once to take our order & once to bring the check. Both times he was rude and unfriendly. When the check arrived, we finally realized why the service was so poor and he treated us so negligently- he had added on his own gratuity. Guess he figured he didn't have to even do the bare minimum, let alone be a friendly server, since he would tip himself anyway. We were so appalled that we went to the host stand and asked why the tip had been included (I know it's sometimes added for larger parties, but we were just a party of 4) - he informed us it is stated on the menu that gratuity is included. I asked to see a menu because I was positive it did not say that. He showed us where it is stated on the dinner menu - the only problem was, we never saw the dinner menu - it was 1pm and we ordered from the lunch menu, on which it was not stated at all. We had to pay anyway, they insisted. This place treats you like poorly and forces you to tip them as if you had been given attentive and friendly service.

poor service
The service was subpar. When we would ask the waiter for more water (he was not occupied with anything), he groaned... the worst was when another waiter poured water all over my lap by accident, didn't move the wet plate, and when the plate was picked up 5 minutes later, all that water spilled on another person at the table. When I went to complain to our main waiter, instead of listening and trying to accommodate this accident, he argued with me, asked the waiter if I was lying. When I went to complain to the manager, he wouldn't listen to me either and told me that "when something goes wrong, don't report the problem 3 hours after it happened...." i brought it up 5 minutes afterward. These people are unpleasant - i didn't care about not being compensated for the spillage of the water, but by the insulting treatment of the entire staff.

San Gennaro
What a rip off this place was. Stopping in for some of the best Sangria in little Italy (as per their sign, it was NOT) and a small pizza for lunch. No real flavor and not much better than a store bought frozen pizza. For $13 dollars I expected a lot better. The charge for two glasses of wine (my wife and mine) was $24. I complained because the cost on their menu listed Sangria as $8 per glass. I was told they raised the price for San Gennaro festival. I complained about it and paid the $8 price. Tip was already included on the bill for two (a little foward for any restaurant). From the overly loud music (Rolling Stones playing in an Italian restaurant???) to the sneaky change of price, I would stay clear of this place in the future.
