Used to be better
I don't know what happened here but the pizza used to taste way better and the slices are much smaller now... the only thing that seems to stay the same is the sesame crust. I'm only getting pizza from here just because its near to where i work otherwise...

One of the best
Caruso's grandma slice is incomparable. This place is a total do.. Best old school joint in the area. If you want something a little more inventive try Layla jones.

Solid!
I really don't understand how anyone could say it's bad. It's a very, very solid basic NY slice joint, with a twist... the sesame crust. It's old school and very tasty, and reminiscent of the slices I remember as a kid in 1970's NY

From good to poor
I grew up in this part of Brooklyn and use to eat here alot. after moving to bay ridge for a while and moving back in the there pizza taste not so good. the sauce taste like it's straight from the can, the cheese taste old, the crust is too thick, and it's almost $4 for a slice. this used to be my favorite place now it's the worst pizza I had! I have to go to court st to get a good slice.

great old school pizza.
ok, so this isn't that super thin crust gourmet pizza, so if that's what you're looking for you might want to go somewhere else. With that being said, this is a really great pizza, nice crust, not too much cheese and a tangy sauce. I got a plain pie delivered and it was fresh and still packed a nice crunch. My favorite slice so far is the sesame seed pesto slice. The sesame seeds almost give the pizza that Italian Sandwich feel. It's a nice touch. It's great to have a good, not too expensive delivery option in this neighborhood. There's also a really decent seating area--so you could order a whole pie here and have enough room for your friends to share a pie--that is if you want to share.

Reliable, consistent, solid, delicious, rustic even...
I've been living in this area for 6 months now and have been relying on Caruso's for great pizza. I've tried a bunch of the other places. NOTHING that delivers compares. Mind you, I've only done delivery and take out from Caruso. Their crust is covered in sesame seeds, its always full and properly supportive of the toppings and cheese. The crust is flaky and delicious. Ingredients are always fresh. Delivery is fast. GUy on the phone is friendly, fast and totally competent. I don't usually write reviews unless I feel that the existing ones have it all wrong. So please trust me. this place is the way to go for pizza in this area.
