I love Carrot Top's cakes and pasteries. The saugage with peppers and onions is delicious. At the 214th Street shop. I found some choices limited, the Flang is superb, but is hardly available. So I don't go there anymore. I travel to 164th Street and Broadway. I find the atmosphere more pleasant and friendly to the customers which makes me spend more than I should but who cares when you're getting satifaction to the palete. Thanks! I was introduced to these amazing cakes by a co-worker and I have been hooked ever since. Moist, flavorful and extremely fresh. I have been there several times and the service is pretty good. I notice the attitudes of the workers are directly related to the insane demands of people who wait until the last minute and want a cake to pop out of thin air. I call at least two days ahead and its always been ready and great tasting. It has become a favorite at family functions. Taste like buttah baby.

My wife and I had to attend to a wake across the street. We were early and we were hungry. I wasn't familiar with the immediate area in regards to food. But behold there was Carrot Top. We looked at each other and walked in. My wife had the Chicken Ceasar Salad and I had the Eggplant Parmigana. The food was really, really good and plentful. It wasn't costly. They took longer than I expected to get the food prepared but it was worht it. After the wake we had an hour drive north. We wanted coffee. So we went back to Carrot Cake. They made one of the best Spanish coffee, you know with the steamed milk. We were chit-chatting with the lady behind the counter and she asked us what we were doing. We briefly told her about a wake we attended across the street, we told her that the eggplant and salad was great, and that we had a long drive back home. She smile, charged us for the small coffees we received 2 larges, and gave us a carrot cake and a chocolate cake on the house. Great place in Inwood, great deal, great, great, great, I am mean really GREAT.....

Through the years, I have often gone here to buy the cakes I need for special occasions and my office uses their catering for office meeting lunches. While I can imagine during the busy times, they may not be all that nice and polite, they have saved my butt twice at Thanksgiving time by allowing me to order cakes at the last moment and handing it to me with a smile. Their chocolate chocolate mousse is to die for and their flan is delicious! I love their carrot cake and their chocolate cake is for chocolate lovers. They make decent sandwiches at very good prices.

I tried to order several cakes for a party and the service was so poor I left - but convenience brought me back and I dealt it. The carrot cake was good but the frosting was too sweet (that’s a good thing if you like it). I am not convinced that it was worth tolerating the rude staff.

The carrot muffin in this place is Amazing. I have yet tasted a better carrot muffin you most tried it. The turkey burger is good was well.
