Carmines
This is an excellent restraunt! The food is good, the desert was supurb, and the service was fantastic! Our party consisted of 6 people we shared 2 starters, 2 entries,and 3 deserts every one loved it. if you want to be asured of a short wait get their before 5:30 and their should'nt be a problem

Not so Great
I expected, from the reviews, that this would be excellent italian food. I've had much better in Buffalo and Chicago. $20 for a cesar salad was insane for the amount you got. I could make better lasagna and the calamari - was like any other place you go.

Disappointed
All I can say is the service is not good and that is putting it nicely. The food is ok but because of the service there I would not recommend this restaurant to any of my friends and family.

Wowww
The food was great. We had such a wonderful tasting stuff artichoke loaded with garlic and cheese. The spiedini was also to die for. The penne vodka, best Ive had in a while. My fiance got veal stuffed with cheese, mushrooms and procuitto, it was oozing with melted cheese, sooo good. The food was so huge we took it home and fed four more people the next day. Th dessert, Ricotta cheesecake was also yummy. The service was great and at 9pm we got right in. WE would def go back. It is busy and can be noisy but its worth it. We dine in NYC at least once a month and try new places all the time. This was great

With a qualification...
Six of us visited the other night. I was very surprised at the quality and taste of the food. There was an excellent balance of flavors and very subtle use of herbs and spices. I wasn't expecting this in a family style restaurant. I better understand why it is so popular. My only gripe is that it is so busy, the wait staff just doesn't care about the customers. I watched bus help walk away from customers in need of plates and forks and servers bring food in large plates to tables that were still packed with empty plates from a prior course. Some of the staff actually laughed at customers who asked for assistance. This really isn't a bottom up problem; this is a top down problem. Management must set the correct tone. But the food is good.

Excellent Restaurant
Very crowded and can seem s little chaotic upon entering but the food and service is worth every minute of it. Highly recommend to anyone who loves food.
