Loved It!!
Went here for the first time last weekend and had a really nice dinner. There were three of us and we ordered one dish of pasta and meatballs. I think it was about $22.00 and it could have easily fed six without a problem and it was excellent. Service was excellent too and so was the cannolli!!! I'm traveling to NYC again in November and plan to go here again.

Fun place, plentiful servings
Hesitated to go here because of mixed reviews I had read. There were 4 of us, 2 who were teenagers. An incredible amount of food, very tasty, fun atmosphere.2-4 people can share 1 dish if you all want to eat the same thing. We had the caesar salad, calamari, & chicken parmigana - left enough salad, calamari, &chicken and pasta to feed 2 more people. We actually returned 2 nights later after the theatre, ordered 2 dishes and still left food behind. Not stuffy, or fancy, but good deal for the $.

Huge portions but little else
Huge portions and a carefully orchestrated Italian American feel keep the tourists coming back to this theater district hot-spot. The taste of the food leaves a lot to be desired though and you instantly realize that the Chef Boyardee people might have been here once or twice to compare recipes. It really does a good job on atmosphere and is great to bring picky family members to, as they are sure to find something they like.

Great Fun
Everytime we come to NYC, we plan a night for Carmine's. It's fun, the service is good and we love the HUGH plates. There are at least 4 of us that go and it's perfect. We fly into NYC at least 4 times a year and it's Carmine's every time!!! This is not your up tight, fancy schmacy place....it's a place to have fun and good food.....PERIOD.

Best Restaurant in NYC
Just because it's in Times Square doesn't mean it's not great food. The so called locals like to mock this place because it attracks alot of tourist, but that's just becuase the place is great. The food here is excellent, along with the service and atmosphere. Just because it's popular doesn't mean it's not great food.

Great if your from out of town .
If you want real homemade style food from Italy look elsewhere ( There are lots of places in New York City at a much better price) If you come from out of town and want to think you are having good /real NYC Italian food this is the place for you.

This restaurant
had a pleasant atmosphere, and nice service but it wan't anything extrordinary. The food was nice, but not like a high class restaurant. I wouldn't want to come here again.
