Best Traditional Pizza
Hands down the best plain slice you will get in Greenpoint or Williamsburg. It is one of the best in Brooklyn. If you want all these weird toppings on your pizza, this is not the place. Carmine sticks to the pizza that you will love, thin, crispy, perfect. Try the pepperoni, but too many toppings and it gets too soggy. Ask for a well done pie, or even better, one that's fresh, but has to be reheated. This is the one that the cheese doesn't slide off, has the perfect snap to the crust. The meatball parm sub or the chicken parm is outrageous. Get the hero, much better than the roll. You will be ordering again and again. And once the delivery guys know you, you can get your cigs and brews too.

Best pizza in Greenpoint
This place is incredible. Tangy tomato sauce, perfect cheese ratio, great chewy crust. Carmine and the gang are nice and gracious and they work really hard to make the wonderful food. Also they have a sidewalk window for takeout which is pretty cute. FYI I just ordered 4 slices to be delivered to me during this snowstorm and they said "no problem!" I don't know any other pizza joint that would do that. Thanks Carmine's!

High/low
I do wonder where one finds above-average pizza in New York if Carmine's is but acceptable. I think it'll be some ritzy stuff. Or at least priced that way. Good dough, good sauce, good cheese. And Carmine's behind the counter most days. If you don't like this, you don't like pizza. Sad for you.

Acceptable
Hardly a diamond in the rough, this pizza joint is acceptable. The slices seemed bit small, especially considering the 2.25 price tag, but the flavor and texture was well enough. I'm not from Greenpoint, so I cannot really point you to a better place, but I assume there is one. I would eat there again, if I happened to be close and hungry.

Best pizza this side of Brooklyn
This place is little more than a hole in the wall, but has the nicest staff, great delivery and best pizza around. Highly recommended.

Best Neighborhood Spot Hands Down
OK folks...my best friend and I stalk Carmine's about 3-4 times a week. The pizza is great and all but go sit in the restaurant and eat their food. Our favorite is the pasta fazul soup and we like to drown it in parmesan cheese... it fills you up on a cold day and the best part is it is $3. I mean really. Doesn't get better than that. Their eggplant rolitini is fresh and always wonderful, the gnocci is awesome, and their pastas are all excellent *shrimp parm is off the hook*.... that sauce they use...YUM.
