i order from here all the time but today the lady put me on hold 4 times...then she would be like we are busy it will take 45mins and I was like ok thats fine and then again on hold. first time no order from there. This lady sucks, wish the boss knew what kind of a business service they run...hire some people who want to make you money

I love steak and cheese subs and it's pretty much the only really fattening thing I eat. I moved down from Boston last year and what I found [at least in my experience] is that while I can go pretty much anywhere in NYC and get good to great pizza, the cheesesteaks here are *awful*. When I got turned on to Carl's I was pretty amped. My first few experiences were good - it's a pretty decent sub for NYC {but would be average back home - sincerely}. However, over time, I basically found the staff to be nonchalant to somewhat rude [I don't mind when it's busy, but it was empty 3 or 4 times] and they messed up my order far more than is acceptable. Basically, if you could care less about service, the price is reasonable for NY and there's a good chance you'll be happy - but don't be surprised if you get a sub with bits of stuff you didn't order, or old bread, or just the wrong thing.

Get the cheesesteak with extra cheese and its like eating it in Philly. They need to open more stores.

No mater what you ask for, it won't be what you want. I couldn't get things on the side or even ketchup when I asked for it. The guy said he'd send some out to me, even said "Okay Buddy" but then everything shows up like it's been in a soggy blender. Go to a fast food chain instead. At least they'll be somewhat polite and not lie to you.

On a good day the cheesesteaks are legit. The problems here are consistency and a staff that could care less about customers. The place looks like it hasn't been cleaned since it opened and the service completely sucks now. I'd overlook all of this if they could deliver a consistent sandwich!

I have ordered from here many times since they opened and the cheesesteaks are decent, however, not worth the hassle. The last (and final) time I ordered, they forgot my icecream sandwiches that I had paid for, since it was a rainy night and has already take an hour and a half to get my food, I did not want the delivery boy to have to make another trip, I simply told them that the next time I order they can include the ice cream, as a kind gesture the mgr. said that the next time I order they will give me a free cheesesteak. Well when I ordered next, they made me feel like some sort of mooch when I mentioned this, I was so upset that I told them I did not want the free cheesesteak, just the ice cream that I has already paid for the week before, and even so they gave me a hard time...just bad business!

They messed up my order. I went home, opened it, saw it was wrong, went back not looking for trouble but just for my order. They treated me as if i was the wrong one gave me a total attitude even though i approached them kindly about the ordeal. I will never go back.
