    Poor Service Quality

So I dined at this place and immediately fell in love, the food is great, inexpensive and in my neighborhood. I've been back a total of 10 times and the service quality gets worse with every visit. I have had to flag down a waiter after being seated for over 10 min. They've forgotten a portion of my order and though I reminded the waiter he still forgot nd offered to rap it to go, seriously? Twice I had to literally walk to the front and ask to pay my bill. Thy could use help from "Resteraunt Stakeout" I've stopped recommending this spot to my friends...very disappointing.

    Piss Poor Service

What is with these foreighn restaurants having the poorest customer service.... their are 2 people who prefer to speak proper english, and everyone else doesn't.... the manager didn't want to take my order after I asked her what's in a spanish breakfast... she handed me off to someone non speaking... if hese businesses don't want to treat me with respect they won't get my business.... the food is good but the service is a 0

    Cheap and delicious

The cheapness and deliciousness of the family plan with chicken, yellow rice, black beans, and maduros made up for the fact that was they got our order wrong 3 times. Also, they came to our 5 floor walk up 3 times to finally get the order right. You can't beat it for 17 bucks.

They Act Like They Don't Want Your Business

The problem with La Caridad is not the food, which is delicious and authentic. There is no getting around the fact that the service there, whether it be carry-out, in house, or delivery, suffers from a lack of attention or concern for the needs of the customers. I can not count the number of times I have waited for food, or have been snubbed (flat out ignored) while asking politely about missing food. Perhaps the volume that La Caridad does as a restaurant allows them to absorb the business they lose through inattentive, inefficient, and rude service, but I think it's truly a shame, because I know for a fact that they lose a great deal of business from people who are unable and unwilling to countenance their unprofessional service demeanor. La Caridad has wonderful food, but no food is so wonderful that anyone should have to run the impolite gauntlet that the staff of La Caridad present for their hungry customers. It's a shame that they don't care more about taking their business to the next level.

Great place to eat on a date/meeting

I have been to Caridad many times.I love their food.I have chosen Caridad over other big name resturants to go on a date and even have businesss meetings...my experience on dates turned out much better at caridad with the amount of food and price compared to other resturants..To me ..their steak and onions are one of the best things you can order and it's a whole lot of food for less than 12 dollars...the company I bring to that restaurant always enjoy the food...so bottom line! If you want to have a nice full plate of dinner and not spend too much money..you jus need to be willing to have your uptown instead of the flashy midtown manhattan

Okay, but there are a lot of better Dominican places.

This place is pretty popular with the locals and the Cops. It's okay. It's reliably average and is more consistent than the other Dominican places nearby. However above the 155th street boundary there are several tastier Dominican places to go to, including places like Margot, and el Malecon, just to mention a few. The best thing they have is the Roasted chicken. The rice (moro) which is a key part of Dominican food leaves a lot to be desired. It's usually dry and not very fresh.
