    Don't Disappoint Yourself!

I'm not sure where to start with this experience. I could start with the 30 - 40 min standing I did even though I did make a reservation. The server wanted to clean the table's and completely forgot to sit the folks standing. mind you the place had a lil action going on an you have one server? I finally sat myself. After waiting another 20 - 25 mins for menu's I finally got up and retrieved my own. Then it only took another 20 mins for the waiter to come over and ask about ordering. I ordered jerk wings, tasted old, not hot. Mind you no silverware, no napkins, , no water, no drinks of any kind. Then after another 30 mins I was asked if I wanted to order entree's, That took another 30 - 35 mins, no silverware, no drinks, Finally the food came , and when I did get silverware i thought OMG the rice is hard, the fish must have been frozen. Tasted like soggy fried fish. Even though my first two orders were not available. I asked for whiting, then when I did ask for fried chicken I was told I shouldnt order it because it takes an extra 20 mins to batter and fry. Mac & cheese was like some one scraped the bottom of the pan. My brother order brownstew chicken and got what looked like oxtails and tasted like bar b q ? When the waiter finally made it back he said "you can be honest the food was terrible, but I ain't cook it" all I can do was laugh, between his service and the old tasting food. The drabe decor this place is doomed to change it's name again or close. The waiter didnt even look presentable more like a dude on the streets. No hand washing or hygene here. I'm wondering why they got B for service I would imagine a c is more deserving and Im being nice here. The music was loud and not at all interesting. People were walking out and walking in making orders to go getting served faster. I made the HUGE mistake of buying two groupons thinking I would share the experience with friends but I would hate anyone to have to sit through a meal at this place. Too bad nice neighborhood, nice colors but the food sucks, the service sucks..... 11 Thumps Down LMAO

    unappetizing food

The food at this restaurant is old and stale, seems as if it was cooked from a week ago. Jerk chicken and rice and peas suppose to cook on a daily basis but not at this restaurant, you can taste the staleness. The mac and cheese was unappetizing, we were disappointed i would not recommend anyone to this place.

    Delish!

If you are hungry and you simply want some Caribbean food in the neighborhood dont think twice the food is great. The portions are immense and its been pretty consistent each time i order. The first time i ordered was via delivery and the second time was a walk in. If you decide to to dine in you will most likely be underwhelmed by the venue, its tacky and boring but nonetheless the food is great.

Was a little skeptical at first but...

Boy was I pleased. I am very fussy when it comes to food especially Caribbean food, but this food was awesome! Before going to the restaurant, I read some reviews on Yelp and this website to get an idea of what to expect. Most of the reviews were not as positive as I expected. We arrived at the restaurant around 10pm on a Saturday night. The place was empty but I am assuming it was because of the time at night and the fact that this restaurant does not serve liquor at this time (they are working on getting their liquor license). Our server who was very friendly greeted us. She asked us if we had a Groupon or living social coupons, which we did. I am assuming there is a special menu for customers with coupons. There were many options on the menu to choose from including vegetarian dishes and pasta. For the appetizer, we ordered codfish cakes, which were ok, not bad. For the main entree, I ordered curry chicken with rice and peas and mac & cheese. My husband ordered grilled salmon with mac & cheese and string beans. All I can say is Yumm, Yumm, Yumm!!! Everything was delicious. The food was very well seasoned and the fish was nice and juicy. There was also a very generous portion served. For dessert, I believe there were five or six choices. We ordered the red velvet cake and carrot cake. We took those to go because we were so stuffed. Overall, everything about the food was great. The only thing I would change about the restaurant is the ambiance. Maybe put some Caribbean music on to get you in the mood, light the candles that are on the table and maybe add a few more foliage to create an island atmosphere. I would definitely return to this restaurant and recommend it to friends.

I can't believe how disappointing this place was! I purchased a groupon for this place which included an appetizer, two entrees and two desserts for $20. I was all about it. I checked out the menu online and I thought...this place is going to be great! Talk about a let down. We get to the spot and it was pretty warm in there with no AC. We sit down anyways and once we got the menu we noticed that it looked nothing like the menu that was online. It had half the options. Then we were told that they had a busy weekend and they only had vanilla cupcakes...Hmmm...We should have walked out the door then, but I still had the Groupon and didn't see myself traveling back this way again. Food came, appetizer wasn't that disappointing, entrees came and the food tasted old! The most disappointing Mac and Cheese I ever had. We get the cupcakes and they were strawberry not vanilla and they tasted like cardboard sprinkled with sugar.

I purchased a discount ticket for this via livingsocial.com and went with a friend of mine. We were both excited to go. I was horribly suprised at the venue. The food options were not that great either. One of the waitresses was friendly and of course ours was not and barely paid attention to us. Let me say that the ONLY reason that i ate my meal was because i had not had breakfast or lunch and was starving at that point. My friend barely touched her meal, we were there for nearly two hours and that last 90 mins we were the only two customers at no point did either of the 2 young ladies, nor the owner/manager that walked in at some point ask my friend why her food sat there untouched. It was just a totally disappointing experience. I've had good carribean and good soul food, this place offered neither and the ambiance left a lot to be desired. They need to get better customer service training. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.
