It's a has been!
What happened! This used to be my fave out of the many veggie restsraunts in the village. New chef, new menu, high prices, no bueno!

Used to rock...
Loads of menu changes and ridiculous price increases and inconsistent service have zapped Caravan of its original pizazz. I was disappointed to find they had nixed pretty much every item I (and many others I know) had come to love! Now it seems they are aiming to be more fancy pants and offering up very little to render that acceptable. Sometimes the old saying really does apply: "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Ok-nothing more
I've been coming here a long time--the food has always been good, the prices somewhat high, and the service very slow. The room has poor acoustics and seems very noisy; the long table arrangement doesn't help. The music was amature-I've heard better garbage coming out of a highschool practice room. For the prices, the atmosphere should be classier!

New management, needs work
This restaurant has long been my favorite veg restaurant in the city. The new management cut the headlining stir-fries out of the menu. Too bad. Quality of the other dishes I had last week were not as good as I remember. Keep improving!

Since 1991 and going strong!
You can see by my ratings how I felt. Excellent choice for an organic drink, a cup of wholesome raw soup, or a night a nutritious ecstasy. (we were literally high from the food) I only docked stars for the atmosphere because of the clientale being rude to one another and for the lack of creative decor. But who really cares about that when there's live unintrusive music and hearty organic food. They know what they're doing and the 20 year anniversary says enough. Can't wait for spring and what's in season!

Eat vegan :)
I encourage everyone to experience the deliciousness of vegetarianism and veganism, which is why I am hesitant to criticize this restaurant at all. I think the food was fresh, healthy, and well prepared. It is overpriced though. Brown rice and veggies ... not so expensive. Also, the atmosphere in the front dining room is great, I think (sort of bohemian, dark, but not too dark), but the back dining room is sort of depressing looking and could use more decor and art on the walls. Try to eat in the front dining room and enjoy the good food.

Decently Dreamy
I, a serious carnivore, went here recently with a vegan friend to celebrate her birthday. She normally would go to Candle 79 or Blossom... but decided to give this a go. I ordered the Burrito Monoski and she had Angel's Pesto Pizza. Ironically, I had a better experience here then she did. Seitan was passable and I enjoyed my dish. However, she was disappointed in the "pizza" which resembled more of an open-faced burrito with crimini mushrooms, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots and pesto sauce... it was an anti-pizza. This version of an old favorite wasn't as decadent as she had hoped for. The desserts were lovely and the live music really fed the atmosphere. Our waiters were a little slow but very polite and accommodating. I would recommend it but with a little caution... it seems as though they substituted some of the ingredients in both our dishes. Overall, a good place to take your vegan date.
