Caravan of Doom
45$ for two bowls of "Vegan paella" . I am really sorry, but I could have done better myself, and without having to sell Jonny's kidney for it. Furthermore, it was advertised as containing a sausage, but the so-called sausage turned out to be 3 miserable and tiny pieces of one, playing hide and seek with the artichoke. It's a shame the caravan didn't carry us away in the right dream because the place was, however, very nicely decorated.

I like this place
Ok, this place is pricey, although you can get a sandwich or salad for a normal price. The atmosphere is just so great, dark and somewhat romantic, but fun and just really cool. It can get a little loud because there are families there often. The food is usually good, but I was there last night and got an entree from the daily specials, seitan teriyaki, and it was just bad. It was terribly salty (and I'm a salt addict), the seitan was dry And the dish just tasted like bad stir fry with too much soy sauce. But that was the only bad dish I've ever had there. Some weren't too exciting (Spanish paella is just nice) but still enjoyable. The dessert with the banana and nutella is very good. I would say that this place has a lot of potential but the food has to be better and cheaper. I would love to go there often if at least one of those things were to happen.

It's a has been!
What happened! This used to be my fave out of the many veggie restsraunts in the village. New chef, new menu, high prices, no bueno!

Used to rock...
Loads of menu changes and ridiculous price increases and inconsistent service have zapped Caravan of its original pizazz. I was disappointed to find they had nixed pretty much every item I (and many others I know) had come to love! Now it seems they are aiming to be more fancy pants and offering up very little to render that acceptable. Sometimes the old saying really does apply: "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Ok-nothing more
I've been coming here a long time--the food has always been good, the prices somewhat high, and the service very slow. The room has poor acoustics and seems very noisy; the long table arrangement doesn't help. The music was amature-I've heard better garbage coming out of a highschool practice room. For the prices, the atmosphere should be classier!

New management, needs work
This restaurant has long been my favorite veg restaurant in the city. The new management cut the headlining stir-fries out of the menu. Too bad. Quality of the other dishes I had last week were not as good as I remember. Keep improving!

Since 1991 and going strong!
You can see by my ratings how I felt. Excellent choice for an organic drink, a cup of wholesome raw soup, or a night a nutritious ecstasy. (we were literally high from the food) I only docked stars for the atmosphere because of the clientale being rude to one another and for the lack of creative decor. But who really cares about that when there's live unintrusive music and hearty organic food. They know what they're doing and the 20 year anniversary says enough. Can't wait for spring and what's in season!
