Great experience!
Delicious food, great staff, great service... All around, an extremely pleasant meal. Food was great (so many options), portions were hearty, waiters were super friendly and helpful. Definitely a place I would go again and a great dining experience!

A Classic
What a happy find...a nice old-fashioned white table cloth Italian restaurant with terrific food and service. Haven't been to anything like this in NYC since Beatrice Inn closed and Gene's got too, too crowded. Just perfect.

Fantastic
My family and I have been going here for over 20 years. Food has always been great. The staff is excellent, they treat everyone the same even if you are not a regular. Love sitting at the service bar for few drinks beofre the meal and smelling that fresh smell of garlic. You can not go wrong eating at this place.

Excellent experience
We went to Capucine's at around 5PM. We were the only customers at the time. The service was prompt and professional. The mozzarella en carrozza appetizer was fresh and crisp with a mildly sweet sauce which brought out the flavor f the dish. Homemade lasagne was excellent, with a light pasta. One of the specials was veal cutlet with ham, eggplant and mozzarella cheese.. outstanding! All in all, a very pleasant experience.

Great for Italian Classics
My husband and I finally tried this place after living in the neighborhood for years. It was great! If you're in the mood for the classic dishes like Eggplant Parm, or Chicken Francese they do it right. We had a delicious Stuffed Artichoke appetizer too. The server was attentive and polite, and the prices reasonable. Next time we'll save room for dessert!

My Favorite Restaurant
I have been going to Capucines ever since it opened over 20 years ago. I used to work in Manhattan close to Capucines but for the past five years I have neither worked nor lived in Manhattan. Even so, I return for regular visits from my home in Brooklyn on a regular basis - it's worth thr trip. The restaurant has the best waitstaff in the business. Very attentive but never intrusive, they make every customer feel special. The food is superb. I have a friend who recentlty moved to Gramercy Park from Providence. I recommended Capucines, and both he and his girlfriend eat there regularly and thank me every time they see me for recommending they try it. It's a can't miss.

Can't Go Wrong
Capucines looks like any other non-descript italian restaurant, but things change upon enrty. You will be greeted and served by the most pleasant, informative, and professional waitstaff that one could ask for. The food is always superb; try the red snappers. Their sauce is a delight. It has perfect flavor and texture, and is not the offensive deep red in color that we are so often forced to endure. Many of their specials are served with a light marinara, which takes us even further away from these generic, supermarket style red sauces that are so prevelant. In summary, Capucines offers top shelf food and service in a neighborhood, family atmosphere, and the prices and portions are reasonable. Your guests will be delighted. It doesn't get much better.
