    Best in Murray Hill

Lived here for 3 years and I've had all the burgers at MH diners, restaurants and fine dining places, etc... Captain's charcoal grilled burgers are the best hands down.

    Awesome Food Cheap!

You have to give this place a go! The owner is super friendly and his wife is a sweetheart too. The food is always super fresh and delicious - and that's probably why they get a full house (the place is kinda small) for breakfast and lunch every day. I work around the corner, and can always count on them for satisfying comfort food in a pinch. Not only are their burgers yummy, but their roast beef and cheese steak sandwiches are soooooo inexpensive and good and come with a huge helping of fries, lettuce, tomato, cole slaw and pickles. They also have a couple of turkish dishes on the menu. Great breakfast sandwiches too!

Sailing the High Seas with the Captain.

Aaaaaargh!! Captain's Cafe is a tremendous experience. The small confines of the restaurant create a warm and cozy atmosphere and the service if prompt and friendly. The cheeseburger is delicious and the fries are well cooked, unlike typical diner-type fries that come out soggy and under-cooked. The Captain provides fresh pickles on every table, a nice selection of cold beers and a flat screen TV to catch up on C-SPAN reruns. The lunchtime "rush" (seating available for approximately 16 people at the tables and another 7 at the bar) is significant so you are better off going early or late. Be sure to belt out a hearty "AAAaaaaaaargh!!!" in appreciation as you pay your tab.

One of the best burger places around. They are charcoal grilled. So good!
