Great food, quite cafe but would go back again
Had Chicken Shish and must say best Kebab I've ever tasted. Want to come back to New York for more. Was quiet when we went but this was fine, we had a nice chat with the staff and was great value for money. Rest of party had burgers and they all seemed happy, but think they regretted not having the shish

perfect breakfast
We took the Captains Special Continental breackfast realy good food quickly en hot served with the coffee , delicious , plenty for the whole morning. the music was not loud, and the tv news was with text and soundless. we had a nice stay there!!!

REALLY GOOD STUFF
I work in the area and I use to get lunch at these “fancy places " around here, and the food ehh and to much $$ but Captains Cafe! Hmmmmmm Yummy! Very good food, very clean place, and Amazring prices.. Very affordable. I esp. love their Gyro platter and burgers.. Oh and GREAT staff!

Brilliant
After a college trip from the UK to NY, we stayed at the Hotel Grand Union. The Cafe being at the hotel naturally became our source of breakfast. The staff were extremely friendly, polite and went out of there way to make sure the service was spot on. If i were a new york resident, i could easily see myself as a regular.

Breakfast only!
My friend and I went there for breakfast 2 mornings, after eating at the Brooklyn Diner we loved this place and hated the other. I had the bagel and the potatoes, they were so delicious! We didn't have great service, we had to ask them for more coke, but it was right by our hotel, Hotel Grand Union, which we liked and it was close to everything!
