    Best tex/mex in nyc

it's been around forever but this place keeps getting better. the food is delicous and so are the margaritas. the only drawback; very cramped quarters, especially when it's crowded!

    Great food!!

When my fiance and I moved to the area we had many unpleasent experiances at local restaurants. After living in the area for 8 months we decided to try canyon road! Well we were very happy we did. We could not have asked for better food at a mexican restaurant. The review under this seems alittle harsh on the service, if you waited for a table obviously it was packed, which this place is often! However we have never had to wait for water or chips, the waistaff can get a little slow but the food always comes out quick after our order! We recommend this restaurant to everyone!

It's a shame the service is poor...

Because the food is to die for! It takes twenty minutes just to be seated, not to mention get water or heaven forbid...refills on that water. The only time our waiter came over to check on us was to give us the check. The food is great, authentic Mexican..a little pricey, but the service is just uninspired.

    Great Southwest cuisine on UES

LOVE CR. We go a few times a month. The Nachos and shrimp quesidillas as apps are to die for. My hubby and I always order the swordfish and steak fajitas they alwasy come out sizzling and are so yummy. On the weekend I would totally reccomend a res!

    Niiice! We like!

Believe me, at Club 440 the good times roll well enough into the day after that a great Tex Mex meal in da 'hood is beyond necessary! Canyon Road is where we can dish about our great nights over delicious and savory apps and salads -- main courses aren't really our scene.....but liquor is! The margaritas are to die for!

    Stick With What You Know

I have been to CR a few times and recommend sticking with just drinks or the basic food choices. I had the garlic shrimp appetizer and it was just poor. The shrimp was frozen and the sauce was unappetizing. My friend got the swordfish tacos and they were also subpar. The place is also very loud.
