Great for a group
Went here with a few out of towners and had a great evening filled with delicious food and drink. Ordered multiple pitchers of margaritas, the guacamole, goat cheese quesadilla, and the chicken enchilada. Also had a special appetizer that was made with shrimp--very flavorful. Service was a little disjointed, but they were pleasant. I look forward to going back and trying out other menu items. Definitely one of the better mid-priced restaurants I've been to on the UES.

The bar doesn't suck
Sitting and having a drink at the bar is the best part of this place, even if the bartender doesn't give you great service or stay on top of your drinks. Ambiance is great. Guacamole table side is definitely worth it, but as for everything else, save your money!

Not bad...
The drinks are well made; especially the flavoured Margaritas. The Lime is outrageous! Food is very, very good. My last venture included the Roast Duck Burrito in Poblano sauce. Most excellent indeed. The plantains were good, some just a bit dry. The atmosphere is comfortable and can be relaxing if after the 5PM-8PM crowd. Enjoy!

Forget the food, go for the drinks
The title says it all. I had high hopes for this place when I looked at the menu - I love a Mexican place that offers a lot of seafood options. But our food was bland. I recommend just going for a cocktail and sitting at the bar. The ambiance is terrific - very relaxing and homey and cute. I would definitely go back on a nice summer evening for a couple drinks.

Great place
I find that people generally post comments on a restaurant when they are exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. This place is good. Its not authentic Mexican, and doesn't claim to be, but the food is good, the atmosphere/bar are great, and the service is good. I eat here often. Not every restaurant in Manhattan has to be the BEST - it simply cant be.

Disappointed
I would NOT recommend this place to anyone looking for mexican food, not even if they were merely satisfied with imitation texmex. The chips and salsa were subpar (I've had better at chain restaurants). The salsa is clearly from a jar. While eating my chicken quesadilla, I bit into a couple of chicken bones. Although, I must admit that the staff graciously handled the situation. Overall, I think this place would only attract people looking to consume a sufficient amount of sangria or margaritas so that they are clueless to the mediocrity of the food.

poor management
who trains these people? all i ever see is the hostess sitting watching fashion shows while my husband and i search for our waiter. that being said, i love the food, and the happy hour is great. too bad about the service.
