    Across the board excellent!

I visited Cantina Latina last month and let me just address the platano issue raised below. They did not have platanos when I went either - and yes, we were VERY disappointed. I dont get it either, but hey.....they were superb in all other areas. We ordered empanadas, tacos, steak, rice, beans, guac, alcoholic beverages and everything tasted fantastic! The decor and atmosphere was cute too. Let me add that they won me over when I asked if they would bring a piece of cake and sing for my friend's birthday. First, they said that they dont offer dessert and dont sing. LOL. Then our waitor said they would figure something out. The brought out a hostess cupcake with a candle (or match) and about 4 people belted out "Happy Bday". I was like....wow! They made it happen. Ive been dreaming about their food ever since. So, if dessert and platanos are that important to you :o/ .....dont go. If excellent service and delish food are important - haul yourself down there pronto!

    disappointed

I was very disappointed with this new restaurant. Although the decor was great, they did not have their menu together-when we asked for the platanos/tostones (which are a staple for a Cuban place) they said they hadn't perfected their recipe yet for these- so even though they are on the menu they were not available. (what's to perfect??) Then, the chicken mole was just so-so, and such tiny portions! We thought we would save room for dessert, but then were told that again, since they were a new restaurant (open for at least 2-3 months now!) they hadn't gotten around to that yet, they were still trying to perfect the dinner menu. Good lord!

    Not impressed

My friends and I are Latino and were so dissapointed by this so called Cuban resturaunt. The prices are modest but the dishes are so small, they are not worth the price. The empanadas were soggy and the sangrias were watery. The only dish that wasn't disappointng was the skirt steak. And you know what, it wouldn't kill them to have st least 1 spanish speaking waitress.

    Loved the food!

I ate at the bar with some friends. We highly enjoyed the place and thought the food was really good! We ordered several starters; The Ropa Vieja, Croquettas De Jamon Y Queso and albondigas (meatballs) were really good. For mains, I had the Adobo ribs which were very meaty and tasty-spiced but not spicy hot and my friend had the cod which he said was very good. Both friends are fussy foodies and had nothing but good things to say. Quite reasonable for the qualtiy of the food. Will definitely go back.
