I come here all the time and the food is consistently good. And the value is excellent - you would be very hard pressed to find mexican food this good at better prices in NYC! The only drawback - Friday and Saturday nights can get extremely loud! In fact, they have dancing in front of the bar on Saturday night - which is separate from the dining room, but you can still hear it loud and proud! But if you don't mind noisy weekend nights, it's great and you should definitely check it out!

My boyfriend and I went here on a recommendation from a friend for Cinco de Mayo. We are very picky when it comes to Mexican food because we are from CA. This place sat us immediately on their busiest day of the year, the food was authentic as NY can get, and the service was fast eventhough it was soo crowded. We were very impressed. We did not enjoy the music level and the bar people though. But that is our fault for going to dinner at happy hour on Cinco de Mayo, ha!

Good food and margaritas. Service a bit slap dash/casual. Wouldn't go again, as there are more appealing places to eat in NYC.

My husband introduced me to Cancun when we were dating. We been married ten years now. When we walk around the city looking for good restaurants we want good food at a reasonable price, but by the time you find a place you like they open and close at a blink of an eye. I am very happy to say Cancun never fails. We love the margaritas and have taken several friends and familiy members there over the years. Even if we sit at the bar the atmosphere is always friendly and the staff is wonderful. I hope Cancun stays around for many years to come.

I read the reviews before going and they are pretty much accurate-good place, good food, good drinks. It has a very fiesta-like atmosphere when you walk in, since the bar is right there and seating for the more casual diner.- and I don't mean fiesta in a bright or cheesy way. Then towards the back, they have the more traditional type seating. The service and food were good and the price was right. The pina colada was awesome. They played spanish music all through dinner and there was def a playful vibe about the whole place. Once you enter, you feel like you have escaped to somewhere else, other than Nyc. I would recommend and would go here again.

I don't remember what night it was, just that it was around 10 pm and my wife, sister and her husband, daughter and I were all seated. We were looking to get some appetizers and some margheritas. The waitstaff was reluctant to serve us for who knows why, but we eventually received service from another waittress. Appetizers were good and the margheritas were delicious. Our bill was well over $200-- for about 10-12 margheritas! At one point, the bartender came over with 5 shots of tequila and said "these are on the house!" We finished off only 3 of them. We were all pretty drunk and I don't understand how the bill was so pricey. Would I do it again? OF COURSE!

My hubby and I visit NYC every year.......we never forget to stop in at our favorite Mexican Restaurant. This place is such a great deal. You can't beat the price, the service and the food. Huge portions too! Awesome margaritas! I recommend this restaurant to anyone who is visiting Manhattan and wants to avoid the tourist crowd. Staff is very attentive, chips and salsa refilled promptly and the guacamole is very good as well.
