Dark depressing place.food is barely passable...small shrimp, cold rice, and black bean soup that would be better out of a can...calamari appetizer on the menu at $8 showed on the bill as $12...waiter said he forgot to tell us..and, conveniently, there was no manager on the premises...also did not accept a valid restaurant.com certificate for a food discount...this is a very sleazy place on a lot of counts...

Brought a friend from another country expecting to get a decent Mexican meal - ended up disappointed. Location was fine and decor was lively and warm, but the food ended up coming too slowly. Everything cooled down and the wraps and beans hardened before they even got to our table. Prices weren't too bad, but not really worth the $60 I paid. Waiter wasn't too bad. Biggest cons were the noise and food.

Although the food is decent and the staff nice, they don't really deliver. Everytime you call you get some reason why they can't deliver that day, too busy, new busboy, whatever. They shouldn't be on Menupages because they do not offer a true delivery service.

I have been to Cancun every once in a while in the past 10 years. Personally, I love it. The portions and the quality of the food are great. However, I head they recently jacked up the prices. From what I remember, I am pleased each time I go. Plus the chips and salsa they give you in the beginning are amazing. Mixing and matching burritos and enchiladas or whatever you want makes a great meal. The atmosphere is really dark at night, and I could understand how someone may not like the dim lighting or the loud music, but I don't mind. The fried ice cream for desert is a must. I recommend Cancun as a above-average mexican restaurant for a reasonable price.

I love this place! Whenever my brother comes to visit me we go straight to Cancun for their huge margaritas and their Enchiladas Suizas. The salsa served with chips is awesome, and the environment is tons of fun. It's a great spot to go for lunch, dinner, or late night, with a big group of friends or on a date. Can you tell this is my favorite Mexican place?

Cancun is decent Mexican food here in NYC. It's our local place, and we love it. And their margaritas are very strong. They don't gyp you in the alcohol department! If you go on the weekends, it's true there is often a party-like atmosphere, because a lot of people like to have their girls-nights-out, or bachelor parties or whatever there. It's a perfect place for that kind of thing. My husband and I like to go there on date-night, because the service is good, and we have our favorite dishes (and it's consistently good quality). So don't listen to the reviewers below - you just have to know it might be loud if you go there. Our kids love the black bean soup.

I am a huge fan of Mexican food and drink and there are several excellent spots here in Hell's Kitchen. Cancun is not one of them. I went there last week with a friend and we were both disappointed. Our food was bland, tasteless and boring. The margaritas were not particularly large and they were $11. I'm happy to spend $11 on a drink if it's good, but these were just mediocre. I saw some good reviews on this site and I can't understand how anybody likes this place. Our waiter was really nice. That's the only good thing I have to say.
