Service so poor we walked out!
My husband and I were really looking forward to trying this restaurant. We walked into a half-empty dining room, and stood there for 3-4 minutes before the staff even acknowledged us. When she did "greet" us it was as though she was annoyed with our presence. We stood in the doorway for another 5 minutes, even though there were clearly tables available. We then noticed a couple members of the staff arguing in the back of the dining room in front of the patrons. We took that as a sign and promptly walked out. What a disappointment!

Best Mussels in Park Slope
My friend and I went here last night. I was in the mood for the Mussels Provencal, but ended up with the Poulette, this is just as good. My friend had the the free range chicken with some sort of fried potato top on it...it was delish. We love this place. We are going back on Sunday for brunch. Heard their corn beef hash is homemade, my favorite breakfast dish. The owners are friendly and welcoming.

Warm and wonderful!
We have been irregular patrons for years because we live in Manhattan and don't get to Brooklyn as often as we should. They always make us feel like we are family. The food is always fresh. The menu is short and not overly fussy but everything on it is great. We always end up talking to people at the the next table and everybody seems to feel the same about this place. Brooklyn at it's best!

mixed feelings
pretty good food, service with attitude, strange music (from french covers of stevie wonder to celine dione).... the owner complained to us about not making money on the prefix not once but 3 times (then why is it on the menu?) and i actually think the growled at us when my husband handed him our credit card after waiting for a half hour to try to leave. very strange experience.

Amazing food
Canaille is one of my favorite restaurants and the owners, Phillipe and Marie are such lovely welcoming people that I always feel that I am at the home of favorite friends (if my friends cooked like angels!). I've never disappointed with any of the food and the wine recommendations are always perfect. I rarely order off the menu because the specials always sound so delicious...almost as delicious as they taste. But the french onion soup is to die for!

This is the reason we moved to Park Slope!
we discovered this classic french bistro a year ago and have been faithful visitors ever since. the food is alway well crafted, classic and solid fare. never had a anything less than a great meal here, and the specials are always a good choice. the owners Marie and Phillipe are colorful and friendly, knowledgable and always make you feel very welcome. the wine list is great, perfect for the sommalier in you. Must try the champange! of all the french bistro's in New York this one is one of the best. they now take credit cards - major bonus. we love it.

My favorite in Park Slope!
This place is definitely my favorite in Park Slope. The food is delicious and the owners are just lovely. The menu is small but complete and all dishes are very well cooked. They have very good wines for reasonable prices and you can trust their advice.
