Wonderful, comfortable restaurant
We have been eating here for many years (whenever we are in Manhattan). The food, service, and ambiance are first rate. You never feel rushed. We always feel very welcomed.

Not recommended
Have been there for dinner on several occassions as it is convenient location to meet a friend. Some of the food is fine, some very salty. The atmosphere is old world and the tables are far enough apart that you can enjoy the company. The restaurant gives very little value for the money. For example, we ordered salmon which was over $40 and it came on a plate with absolutley nothing -- no potato, vegetable, salad, etc. Everything is a la carte -- and can become quite expensive if you are ordering salad, pasta and vegetables separately -- With so many wonderful choices now in the neighborhood, it is not a place I would go back to.

Not recommended
First of all, I don't believe old the high praise for this lower than mediocre restaurant. On a recent visit at lunch time there were four people at its maximum. An opened three -quarter bottle of mineral was served -not the brand I ordered – and I was charged $11.50 for the water! The person who I think was the owner denied that the bottle was three quarters full and refused to do anything about the charge. I refused to pay the outrageous amount and left with a bitter taste in my mouth. The pasta was cooked al dente as ordered but the sauce was runny with water and barely mediocre. I don't believe the hype comments. This is a wonderful restaurant to avoid.

Rehearsal Dinner
We had a Rehearsal Dinner for 65 people which was a phenomenal evening. The entrees were fabulous, the shrimp was meaty with wonderful flavor, the paste was to die for and the pastries were some of the best I've ever had. The liquor was premium and generously poured. The service was impeccable. Thank you, Slavko, for being a man of your word.

Superb!
Consistently superb Italian fare in a consistently poor neighborhood for dining. I have no idea why this place isnt jammed every day. No sure why this is rated expensive since most of the items on the menu were moderately priced. What a gem!

Friendly Old World Italian
Was in the area and dropped in - friendly and the food was reasonable quality but nothing special..decor was dated but nice. The place was empty when I was there... but they did a good job. Expensive for what it was, and honestly these other ratings are much too high - but they are nice people and that influences a meal. Enjoyed the evening... but wouldn't go out of my way to go there again.
