Made a reservation after getting a word of mouth recomendation. We arrived a bit early,had a drink at the bar & were seated with a few minutes of our reservation even though the place was packed in the middle of the week. The first test of any Italian place is the bread , an A+ for the panne. I asked the waiter what someone a table away was having as it it looked delicious. The waiter informed me," chicken( on the bone) with sasuage done with garlic & rosemary. " It was just like the last time we were in Italy. A simple dish yet out of this world. The service was first class as was the rest of our meal. If you want a great meal in a real neighborhood place stop in, you won't be dissapointed.

By far the best restaurant in New York. The service is impeccable. The food from the enticing cheese/olive/sopresata plate, calamari, carpaccio, pasta, chicken, meat and deserts is undeniably the best I ever had. I even love the fried potato side. On a weekend night, celebrity sitings are inevitable. I have seen sports celbrities, actors, and even Andrew Hughes hanging out in the bar and in the restaurant.

I have been coming here since they opened ..Let Sal greet you, let Frankie order and then just sit back and enjoy the finest Italian food in N.Y. The best people watching in the city.. There is nothing better..

Both of my dining experiences here have been exceptional. The first time, I remember the host singing as he took our drinks from the bar to the table. Everyone in the place watched the show and smiled. The second time, we ordered a crab appetizer and they were out, but the waiter said he would order something - to trust him. Thank God we did because we each received a large shrimp lightly breaded and grilled served over spinach that was to die for. Our entrees matched - linguni with lobster and vodka sauce, and veal alfredo. The atmosphere is perfectly charming, with a European feel.

My Girlfriend and I have heard great things about Campagnola so we decided to give it a try. As soon as we sat down we were served olives, fresh Parmesian chucks from a wheel we located at the servers station and fresh bread. Of course being at an Italian restaurant we decided to go with wonderful Chianti (Bin# 75). To start with, we split the Carpaccio and Vongole Oreganato (baked clams) which were both wonderful. They have a fantastic menu and a daily special board. We both decided to order off the menu and went with the specials of the day. My girlfriend went with the chicken special which was a grilled chicken breast topped with a portabella mushroom and melted mozzarella cheese. It was fantastic. I chose the Chilean Sea bass covered with s a spicy marinara sauce, which was very moist and amazing. Afterwards we finished the meal off with the famous "Napoleon". It was totally awesome. Our server was totally professional and my girlfriend loved his accent. I would highly recommend this fantastic restaurant. We will definitely be back.

My Wife and I have been frequenting this fine Itlalian eatery for over 10 years. We have traveled all over the world and spent plenty of time in Italy. This little gem is without equal in New York City. Ask for Frankie Dee to prepare his baked Sea Food Oreganata. The Best Home made Pastas! Fresh Sea Food and fine Veal. Garden Vegetables Done just So! Look over the Cold table and try an assortment of these goodies to wake up your taste buds! Great Wine list, Wonderful service and if they get to know you a little you will just keep coming back. We live in Miami and travel to NYC just to go to this place! By the way, for you Steak Lovers dig into the 54 Oz T Bone for two! Feeling a little hesitant try the Dover Sole! It's over the top! Go early or come after 9:30PM for the best tables, It can get a little noisy since it is so busy. The bar attracts a very ecletic crowd so there is plenty of people watching here! You are apt to meet family here and friends you have not seen in years at this place! Reservations Suggested Ask for Sal!

I've had eggplant rollatini all over NYC but never like this... still crunchy yet sitting in a bowl of delicious, creamy, cheesy sauce. I don't know how they do it! And the Linguini with lobster and vodka sauce was amazing. Exactly what it should be. The atmosphere was upscale without being pretentious. Excellent, can't wait to go back.
