I've dined at Camaje a number of times and have always had a great meal, and courteous service. I love the relaxed, cozy ambience reminiscent of old world Paris. The Kobe burger is wonderful and the fries are hard to beat. The salads are fresh and plentiful, and the crepes delicious. Try a shrimp, spinach and goat cheese crepe. The light creme sauce is perfect with it. The caramelized Bananas with roasted chocolate dessert crepe is ridiculously yummy. Perfect that it's braised in dark chocolate. Overall- a wonderful little restaurant.

Dark Dining was a fun experience, but I hate to say it was not worth $120 each. We loved relying on our other senses and experiencing this four course meal with our noses, ears and hands. We discovered the intense tastes of each bite and found it interesting to try to identify familiar tastes while blindfolded. (We also found our fasha and listened to a loud sound snap shot of the room.) The food was good, but like other reviewers stated, Camaje has VERY small portions. The wine and other parings were pretty good too. We left Camaje happy we had tried dark dining, but still a bit hungry. Overall we really liked the evening, but wished it had not cost us $280 once the tax and tip were added. I am not sure if I would recommend it because of the small portions and BIG price.

We've eaten here pretty regularly over the past few years, because we enjoy the atmosphere and the service. But it has become so frustrating, we may stop going. The past six or seven times we've been, they've been out of something (a dish or an ingredient) that we wanted from the menu. We can understand restaurants running out of things on occasion. But it's happened a ridiculous number of times now. The quality of the food which used to be very solid has also become very inconsistent, which is a shame when you're spending over $20 for an entree. Both problems seem to have started around the time the owners opened a new restaurant in Brooklyn, so we can't help but wonder if that has something to do with it: maybe they're stretching themselves too thin? We hope they can figure things out and go back to being the great little neighborhood spot they used to be.

The food has always been good here but the other day I had a pumpkin soup that knocked my socks off. No need to order this dish at other places since it was that good.

First off I ordered a chickpea and goatcheese salad. While the salad was fine, it took me 15 minutes to get my dressing. Being that the place was very busy, I let this fly, but not the next 2 things. So for my entree I ordered a Kobe beef hamburger with french fries and my bf ordered a ham panini. After about 35 minutes of waiting, our food finally came. Ravenous, I took a bite into my burger and knew something was wrong-it was dry, not juicy, and totally well done and overcooked. Keep in mind that i did ask for it medium rare. Secondly, the french fries were COLD, unappetizing and tasted like cardboard. Starving as I was, I thought some ketchup would do the trick, but after 15 minutes of no ketchup to cover the taste of the food I just gave up. I couldn't eat anymore of my meal and neither could my bf whose panini was pathetically small and we asked for the check, which took another 20 minutes to come. After finally getting out of here, we headed over to 5 guys burger where i finally was able to have a decent meal. In the end, I would not recommend that you come here. There are so many other great restaurants in the city and to waste a night here would be so ridiculous. There is only 1 waiter working here and the food is subpar. Plus, the atmosphere is nothing to brag about either. Overall, this was a bad dining experience and I will never come here again.

I really have never been to a restauarnt like this one. I love the atmosphere, the service and most of all the food. It is casual, yet romantic and laid back and I never feel rushed by the waiters. Some of my favorite picks off the menu are the scallop entree and the banana crepes. Delicious!!!
