    Latin Fever

The food at Calle Ocho is amazing. I went to dinner with a few friends and was truly surprised at what a great experience we had. The waitress was knowledgeable and friendly, the Mojito's were strong and tasty and the food was delicious. We started with the soft taco platter and some ceviche, both were tasty and shareable. I had the Vaca Frita as an entre. The steak was so tender and flavorful and everything that came with it was great too. My friends and I all left Calle happy, full, and well satisfied. I would definitely recommend Calle to anyone who likes great food and a very fun atmosphere at an affordable cost!

    disappointing

I've been there three times. The second and third because I was invited. The service was pretty good and the restaurant is impressive looking. Great atmosphere. The food is consistantly subpar. Overcooked, tasteless paella. Nobody ever finished a dish any of the three times. It's like a theme restaurant. All atmosphere, no quality.

    Good but not Great

This place is very chic, cool and hip. You pay for the atmosphere and to be surrounded by people in there mid to late 20's. Aka: bachelorette parties, people on dates, and typical "girls night out" dinner. The food is good but not fantastatic. I have had better for half the price. The best part of the meal was the bread they give you in the beginning and that was free. My friends got the salmon and I must say that was pretty good, much better then my entree. But it was still overpriced. Go here if you want great service, a nice atmosphere and overpriced food.

    awesome

had dinner there tonight with boyfriend for my 24th birthday. i must say, food was EXCELLENT! a bit pricey but the waiter, busboy, hostess all were very sweet and courteous. i would DEFINITELY recommend this place to friends and co-workers.

Good and Bad. But More Bad.

I have been here on 4 separate occasions. The first experience was on a first date and the food and drinks were delicious. Second time I went the food was ok however the service was very poor. At that time I vowed I would never go back then I was invited to a birthday dinner and the restaurant had redeemed itself. The food and service was great. The final time I went was just a few weeks ago and I mean final. All I am going to say is the place is nice for drinks but if you are actually hungry do not go there. The portions are way too small and way over priced. The only thing the restaurant has going is the atmosphere but living in the city there are way too many places to waste your time and money here.

Really good food & great atmosphere

Went with a group of 6 women to celebrate a 50th BDay made reservations with opentable for a Saturday night. Had drinks at the bar mojito's were fab especially the coconut flavored one. Decor very nice loved the pleather tablecloth. Waiter brought over a special rum shot for the table. Everyone was so attentive and made my friend feel special. We shared 4 appetizers-shrimp-baccala-empanada and beet salad all were delicious and with a really nice presentation. The entrees were a good size and everyone enjoyed. We shared a few desserts and they were yummy. A good time was had by all and I will definitely return to try the Sunday brunch.

    Yummy, but a little loud

I went here a few weeks ago and have to say that I will definitely be back. The scallop ceviche was delicious and had a very nice kick to it. The pork shank (lechon) was also delicious, if a little heavy. Some of the dishes we ordered weren't phenomenal, but everything was good (at the very least). Try the Harlem sangria!
