The brunch at this place is fantastic! 5 different kinds of Sangria, and there is a waiter going around serving fresh tacos (the beef is to die for)! The brunch entrees were just as excellent!

When we got there we had to wait a half an hour until we were seated because the dining room was closed. When we finally got our table, my wife and I thought that we made the right decision as the decor was very good. We got out dinner rolls that I am convinced were from Pilsbury. Next was a tasteless steak and fries so undercooked that I couldn't eat them. The service was good as every time I took a sip of water, it was filled. I don't go to restaurants for water or service, I go for the food and I had better steak at Sizzler.

The BEST things about Calle Ocho are the drinks ($9-12, which isn't too bad) and the rolls. I dream about the rolls. BUT, as far as dinner is concerned, save for a few things on the menu, the entrees are way over priced for what they are (it's not mexican, but has that feel). I would go to Hell's Kitchen or even the touristy Rosa Mexican 10 times before going to Calle Ocho for the food. And, our stand-by, Citrus, wins on drinks while offering better priced food, so that leaves the rolls. Good job, Calle, you make AMAZING rolls. I could do without the fake LA vibe.

Was there last night. I asked the waiter if the Skirt Steak was good, and he said it was the most popular dish, and so I ordered it medium rare. It came out like shoe leather. I complained to the waiter and he tells me it is braised so is cooked until it is soft. Then why did you take the order for medium rare? Why not explain this BEFORE the dish was ordered? It was soft and tasteless shoe leather for $24. My dates hangar steak was prepared medium rare and was decent. They need to train the staff to understand what they are serving, and season the product better. The sangria is excellent.

Came here on a Sunday with 4 of my girlfriends after hearing about the great unlimited sangria deal. All entrees are anywhere from 9-15 dollars and you get unlimited sangria with your meal.... it says "while you eat" but we were not rushed out of there. There are 8 types of sangria and you can help yourself to as much as you want while you are there. Let's just say it made for a VERY good "sunday funday" . I called ahead and made a reservation. When we got there our party was incomplete, but we explained our other friend was just running a few minutes late and they sat us without a problem. Great atmosphere... lots of light, very cool decorations. Me and my friends had the best time. I highly reccommend this place for brunch. Not sure about for dinner... I've heard it is pricey. Only downside was the portions weren't huge and the entrees don't come with any sides... but for the price you are paying and what you are getting, it is a great deal! LOVE IT. I will be back for many Sundays to come!

The brunch is a truly incredible deal. Unlimited complimentary Sangria for 4 hours and it is delicious Sangria with 8 different types (4 white and 4 red). I think the "Tropical" is the best white and the "Spanish Harlem" is the best red. Also they keep the baskets of delicious exotic sweet rolls coming. All of the entrees are spot on and the staff is very friendly. Try the yucca fries.

I have been here for dinner twice and brunch once. Have always had great food and great service, although during the brunch it took awhile for them to seat us as we were a large-ish party. Unlimited Sangria Bar during brunch was great, as well at the Spanish omelet. Highly recommend going on a Thursday for their fish special which I believe is Red Snapper. They also have the best bread I have ever had, very addictive!
