    A Must!

This was an absolutely enjoyable experience. I went there with a couple of co-workers on a Thursday night and the atmosphere was great! Great ambience, great music! Sangria was delicious and we have the taco platter appetizer with chicken, shrimp, and steak that was enough for the 6 of us to try a little of each! It was hard not to lick the food off the plate. They also have a shrimp appetizer (for one person) that is to DIE for...with these huge shrimp in an onion bowl. YUMMY! I will definitely be going back to this place with my fiance! I hear Fridays and Saturday in the evenings it gets crowded but HEY it is New York and sometimes thats exactly what you are looking for!

New fav place on the UWS

This place is all around AMAZING! When you step inside you feel like you're in Miamia. From the long list of different sangrias, to the savory cheese filled dinner rolls. I give this place A++++++. I went here with my boyfriend and aonther couple and we all thoroughly enjoyed everything. We decided to order a few tapas/appetizers and split everything, I think this is a better choice than just ordering an entree because you get to sample all of the good options they have to offer. We all really liked the taco sampler which came with beef, chicken and shrimp. Will definitely be returning here.

    fantastic!

I went to this restaurant with my boyfriend on a Tuesday night. We had the lobster appetizer (spicy citrus and cold yumminess!), the hanger steak, and the pork. Both entrees were pretty decent, and the pork was especially tender. The donut dessert with banana ice cream was especially tasty. I also recommend the Spanish Harlem sangria. Service was not super attentive, but we didn't mind too much. The restaurant is beautiful and cool inside, and on a weekday, is relaxed with just enough people and just the right volume of fun music. I imagine that on a weekend, the service is not as good, but this restaurant is definitely worth your while on a weekday!

very accomodating to a big party...

my friends and i have been going to calle 8 for brunch every sunday after thanksgiving for the past two years. our party grew significantly bigger this year (15) and when we called to reserve they told us that they may have to split us into groups of 5! =(. but upon arrival on sunday we were told that they were able to sit us together, in a HUGE beautiful round table in a secluded section of the restaurant. we had a great time!!! thank you to the staff of calle 8!

Best. Brunch place. Ever. 'Nuff Said.

I'm a big time bruncher on the weekends and I must say, I've been to a lot of fantastic places and I've been to Calle Ocho at least a half dozen times and I can't help but keep coming back to this place! The latin brunch food is just good, but the all-you-can-drink Sangria is fantastic! And I love the assorted breads they give you at the table. Yumm. It's a great deal for brunch too, especially if you love sangria!

    Fantastic Brunch

The brunch at this place is fantastic! 5 different kinds of Sangria, and there is a waiter going around serving fresh tacos (the beef is to die for)! The brunch entrees were just as excellent!
