Perfectly Tapas
Perfectly portioned tapas plates, delicious food and reasonable prices. The service was great and the ambiance was low-key and intimate. Highly recommend.

Good Tapas but wine prices outrageous
We recently ate at this lovely west village tapas restaurant. The staff was very attentive and we were served water and our drink order was taken immediately. Glasses of wine were on the high side with a Riojo priced at $14 a glass. When the glass arrived it was no bigger than a juice glass, I would say about 4oz. I don't mind paying for a good wine with a decent pour but the wine was very acidic and the pour tiny. The tapas were good with the best being the shrimp and the chorizo. The pork with goat cheese on toast was so spicy it ruined a nice dish. I don't think we will return until they purchase some bigger wine glasses.

Small plates is right
Had dinner at Caliu tonight . Food was great but very small portions for the price. I'm glad I went when it was the last night of BYOB because if I had to spend $ on wine also I would have been very upset.

Charming with Great Food
A friend and I walked by the other day, saw the BYOB sign out front and thought we'd try it out. Went to the liquor store up the street, got ourselves a bottle, and picked out a cozy little table in the back. First off, I was happy that there wasn't a cork fee. Second, the atmosphere was very charming ... music was at a good level (playing an eclectic variety of music from Spanish to Smash Mouth), lighting was perfect. Thirdly, the wait staff was super friendly and offered us complimentary glasses of sangria as soon as we sat down. Finally, the food was incredible. True, they were small portions, but aren't all tapas a little small? The quality and taste were perfect. The bacon wrapped figs and lamb sandwich were to die for (I'm not usually this dramatic, but it's called for). I'm not a big fan of mushrooms, but the wild mushrooms were garlicky goodness. I'm planning a birthday dinner for a friend and we will definitely be going to Caliu for it. Looking forward to trying everything else on the menu.

Very good
Came in a couple of days after it opened so we were expecting things to be a bit "new" and disorderly. It was slightly but the staff was very on top of our service, all with a nice downtown smile so we enjoyed it a lot. The simple plates are very good quality for the price. The Lamb Bacon sandwich was excellent as was the Pork Tenderloin. Cheese and Meat tapas were good but nothing inordinary. The Paella was very good but the portion was small for the price. As of this writing it's BYOB so that is fantaastic. We would go again and do rcommend.
