Tried others, but always end up here
I am a huge Mexican food fan and LOVE guacamole. I try different places all over the city, but always seem to end up back at Caliente. Their guac is the best I've tasted here in NY. Servers are very attentive. Meat quality is great, no fatty chunks of anything being diguised in burritos. I enjoy the food everytime I go.

A Gem
Went there with my family of seven (many children) and satisfied everyone. No complaints. Highly recommend.

Went there for a bday & loved it!
A friend of mine had a bday dinner there and I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff, great food, HUGE drinks, and reasonable prices. Plus, there was a great outside seating area - AND i just found out they opened a new one on 33rd st. I would recommend to anyone.

Mall-Mex Comes to Manhattan
Truly a mediocre experience. Food, service and ambiance all conspired to remind me of the restaurants one finds in anonymous malls in anonymous cities, designed staffed and owned by those who have waged - and won - their war on flavour and authenticity. Burritos and tacos bore only a passing resemblance to the real thing - service was passable but only just. About the only thing "caliente" about this "cab" were the heating lamps on the patio, which provided about the only excitement in an otherwise subpar evening. Sole saving grace- the margaritas, while not astounding, don't come out of a can.

Blah
This place takes mexican food to a new level. A low level. Boring. Not a bad place for a mediocre margarita and atmosphere is good for people watching, but go for a drink and than go someplace else to eat. The food is bland, (I really didn't want mexican food to begin with) or I just don't really know what good mexican food is. Service is o.k.

Poor mexican food
I was disappointed by the food at this restaurant. Time Out NY had recommended it so a friend and I decided to eat there one night. We both ordered fajitas ... One order of beef and another order of chicken + small order of guacamole and 2 margaritas. The beef was not good... I couldn't finish my meal. I don't know if it was the grade of beef or the way it was prepared... all I know is that I lost my taste for Mexican food for a while. The meal cost us $100 including tip.

Poor service
The food was enjoyable, but the service was poor. I had to find the wait staff person to get another round.
