Caliente Cab Co

We were leery of sitting down to eat at this place based on the tacky decor, but decided to dine there anyways. We were seated quickly, but thats where any sort of service ended. Our waitress did not know that we existed for most of the night, and during the course of the evening stopped by a total of about three times. The only time she actually said anything friendly was when she was dropping off the check. After eating their mediocre Mexican food and receiving the bill, we realized that we were charged for all the little extras that our server asked us about, but failed to mention would cost more. We felt cheated. We spoke to management about poor service and he did not offer any solace. I would recommend that you avoid this restaurant at all cost.

the quality has really gone down here the last few years while the prices continue to rise. the margaritas are nothing to brag about and one can taste more sugar than margarita. mediocre mexican food. no happy hour. why go?

The restaurant has a nice appeal from the outside as well as a great location BUT after you receive your meal you realize its just there to make a buck off the tourists who walk by. I am a new yorker and would never go back! The food tasted like something from Taco Bell but served on a plate. The food presentation in one word would be called Slop. If you want something cheap, then this is the place for you, just dont expect authentic mexican food and service.

The huge taxi and logo on the front of the building and say it all. If you're looking for half-decent Tex-Mex this is NOT your place. This restaurant is a marketing manager's wet dream with the brand plastered on everything from the placemats to the paper cups the margaritas are served in. It is, hands down, the most worst Tex-Mex place I've ever been to. The chips tasted like cardboard, the salsa was tasteless, and the margarita tasted like a Jolly Rancher. Had they put into their cooking half the effort they put into plastering their logo everwhere it might have been worthwhile. They should focus less on expanding their brand and more on making their food edible.

Showed up here on a Saturday night at 7 pm, seated within 10 minutes, then the disaster started. Our waitress (who was extremely busy - one person for 8 tables would be ) finally stopped at our table 15 minutes after we were seated, took our order, we asked for two beers and three waters - beer showed up 10 minutes later, but no water. Ordered guacamole and three combo platters - combo platters came out in 5 minutes, literally inedible. Guacamole was brought out after we asked for it after our 5 minute entrees were brought out. I had to ask three people before it was finally brought out! Guac tasted like stale sour cream (amazing, looked like guacamole but tasted like stale sour cream). No one finished their meals and we were then presented with the bill - Definitely not worth the $30 each of us dropped on this so-called food. Overall impression - horribly understaffed, food is sub-par quality, have to ask five times for water and an unpleasant experience.

I got a steak fajita chimichanga. Ok, first off a chimichanga is SUPPOSED to be fried. Mine was put on some sort of a grill, since it had the grill mark lines. The steak inside this thing was questionable, at best. A real mexican restaurant uses skirt steak to make fajitas, burritos, etc. The kicker was that they charge good restaurant prices. I mean, if I'm going to eat a subpar chimichanga, I expect it to be 9 or 10 bucks. This "entree" was like 15 or 16. The guacamole was edible but definitely not good. What's more is that the chips were terrible. I wanted to run across to the deli to get decent chips.
