Caliente Cab Co

Lots of fun, especially if the weather cooperates and you can eat outside. Good drinks, great guacamole made at our table. I don't come here for serious eating, just for a fun time. Always come back for the guac.

I am a huge fan of Mexican food and if it's Mexican food you want... steer clear of the Cab Company. I had a combination plate and all of the food had the same red sauce and bland flavor, I couldn't tell the taco from the enchilada. The drinks were pricey, but I got to keep the glass to remind me not to go back!

We arrived here on the night of the NYC Halloween Parade and as can be expected allthe local restaurants were packed. It was about 6 PM but we were seated within ten minutes. Yes the tables are close together but not unbearable. Had the guac for two, it was good not great but more than enough for two. Both of had the quasadillas, one steak one shrimp. Plenty of good sized shrimp and enough staek to fill us up. Just had sodas, but dissappointed that they did not give a refill and charged 4 bucks for each soda and refill. The waiter was good, showed up enough but didn't hawk over the table. We were very happy with this place considering the hectic night it was in the area. We would go back again no problem.

The food is pretty bad, but the drinks are AMAZING! Get the frozen drink made with 151 - it's incredible that they can make something that alcoholic taste so good.

Talk about being nickle and dimed. They charge $14 for a mixed drink and they still have the gall to charge $1 for a dollop of sour cream. The food is not great, the service is okay and the prices are ridiculous. I don't plan on returning. I've frequented restaurants with less-than-spectacular food because they made me feel like a valued customer . Caliente Cab on the other hand should just hang a sign up on the door: "ALL WE WANT IS YOUR MONEY".

The food is overpriced, the atmosphere feels like you should be on 42nd street, the service isn't so great. Good guacamole, but expensive.

Went in here on a hot and humid July evening, against my better judgement. First off, the waiter was abrupt, unhelpful, and after taking our order, did not ONCE stop by to get us more water, salsa, drinks, etc. He also assumed we wanted the 3 person guacamole, which was almost $20, and he did NOT tell us how BIG it was - we barely even touched it. Not to mention it was way too limey and not that good. The food we ordered arrived RIGHT after the guac, which took forever, so we couldn't enjoy a well paced meal. (The place was not that crowded, so no excuse except bad service.) We both ordered fajitas. The waiter scratched his head when I asked for extra shredded cheese, since they never bring enough. Here, they DON'T provide any cheese unless asked for. And when they did bring it...they put it on top of the fajitas, so it was a big melty steamy mess. The steak fajitas were VERY poor quality. The mex rice and beans were decent. The onions were good though - its hard to mess up grilling onion. The chicken also could have been better quality. Oh, they have two sizes of drinks - VERY large for $14 (!) a piece, or a VERY small 6 oz one for $7.50 (!). The frozen mojito WAS good...but not worth $7.50 for a sip or two. Over all, I would NEVER go here again! Not even for someone's birthday...I'll skip it, it's that bad.
