While not a big fan of Caliente for dinner, they have certainly gone all out to produce and interesting, inexpensive brunch menu that really impresses. Starting at $9.95, your brunch includes a couple of drinks (margarita, bloody mary, mimosa), and all omelettes include bacon and fruit. My husband and I have been enjoying this hidden brunch gem for some time.

The food at this restaurant is poor quality, poor tasting and generaly undesirable.

been here 3 times in the past 3 months, guac. is great but way too overpriced for what you get. Food was okay, margaritas were good, nothing worth ordering again. probably wouldn't go back. Service wasn't outstanding, 2 out of the 3 times it took forever for the waiter to come, when he finally did the food came out fast. overall, prices aren't reflected in quality of food or service, the bar however is fun and the atmosphere of murray hill must keep them in business.

I took a friend here for a celebration (as a group with others). What a negative experience we had.... The service was not good. The gaucamole was ok, but was offset by watery drinks (and incorrect orders). The head waiter was almost militant in his unfriendliness. Needless to say, we did not stay long and went elsewhere.

My friend and I went to this place cause it just looks appealing, so we assumed the food would be as good as the decore. Boy were we wrong! First, I ordered a VIRGIN strawberry dack, and ended up with a regular strawberry dack. I spit it out. It wasn't pleasant. When the food came (the fast that it came within 20 minutes got me questioning how fresh the food was.) It was dry, and pre-fried. I took a bite out of the taco and that was it I couldn't finish. Even the nacho chips were stale.

I live right across the street from Caliente Cab. Despite a poor experience in the past, I decided to give it another try today. I cannot decide whether it was the food, the drinks or the service that was the worst part of this experience. The food consists of boiled meat, stale tortillas, tasteless beans, and incredibly bland salsa (think blended tomatoes with no flavorings) mixed in a way to make the food as unappealing looking as possible. And if possible, it tastes even worse that in looks. The drinks consist of various sugar syrups served with ice. The service is abysmal. I've lived in New York for years, and had some pretty awful food, but this place is the worst I can remember.
