Leaves something to be desired.
Unfortunately, the food here is really not great, at all. It's a cool place, and I want it to be good but when you have a place like El Superior (N2rd & Berry) & for half the price there is just no reason to go here. I like the spot and it's vibe is cool but it needs a major flavor adjustment. It's just bland and well American Mexican. The Peanut Sauce that they serve with the tostones needs a kick. The Elote - Corn on the cob aka. Cojeta Corn is missing all of the wonderful flavors that I associate with it. The Tacos, bland. I keep trying but it's just not happening.

Best fish taco I have ever had
Best new mexican place in greenpoint. We had the fish tacos, the queso fundido, the guacamole, and the corn...everything was really delicious. The jalepeno margaritas are also definitely worth checking out. I will definitely be coming back for tacos all the time.

Favorite New Restaurant in Greenpoint
I'd heard about the cart, but never experienced it. I went opening week of the restaurant and the place was packed - but after a pleasant wait at the bar (promptly served a margarita) the food and service were incredible. I pretty much live for Mexican food and have since tried everything from the salsas to the guac to the queso fundido (amazing), most of the tacos and the burritos and haven't been disappointedyet. You MUST try this place.

Happy they are here!
We have lived in the area for a long time and remember this location when it was a Chinese place, and then the french place. Calexico does more business in one night that either place did in a month, maybe two! So far I have done take out once and dined in once. Take out was good. It was ready when my husband went to pick it up (but it was so crowded, it took him a while to get to the back counter!). The food was all well seasoned. The chicken quesadilla was amazing, the crack sauce is great. The burritos were good, we had a carne asada and a pulled pork. Again, good flavors. We also got some tacos for our daughter. The corn tortillas do not travel well, so they sort of fell apart when you picked them up, but, they were still good. I recently went there with some friends. A 30 minute wait at the crowded bar, but it was worth it. The staff was very nice. Drinks were good. Appetizers were fresh and tasty. Tacos hold up much better when you get to eat them right away. The staff let us take our time and enjoy our meal, we never felt rushed, even though they were very busy. Overall, i am enjoying this place so far. I am always happy when good food comes to greenpoint!
