Good price, great food!

Calcutta is pretty much the place to go when I want Indian food. Been here many times and never had a problem with either food or service. Food is always piping hot and fresh and service is attentive but not intrusive. A very cute place for dates and gatherings.

Very satisfying

Ordered from Calcutta not knowing what to expect. Excellent prawns biryani and crispy, flakey samosas. Spicy pickles, fresh garlic naan.. what more could you want for delivery? Very high quality food in great portion, rich in flavor yet not oily. Will definitely order again.

Inedible!

When I called for a delivery order, the music was so LOUD at the restaurant I couldn't hear the guy that answered the phone, when I said I couldn't hear him, he started yelling on the phone. Ordered the lamb vindaloo and a mango lassi, the food came about 30 minutes later. I get SEVEN containers in the bag with no napkins or silverware (which I needed). The lamb vindaloo was so spicy, it was inedible. I like spicy, I eat very spicy foods very often, but this was ridiculous. Not even the mango lassi can calm the burning in my stomach now. Next time I'll just order from Mitali (which, by the way, I like way better).

hard to review when you never got food

We ordered delivery from them at 7:45, we called them at 8:45 to see what the hold up was and they said it was on the way. It is now 9:3o and they have not came yet. I've called them 12 times and there was no answer. I delivered from another delivery place I trust and they were here in 15 minutes. It's really hard to review Calcutta because I never ate there and I probably never will.

Great!

The atmosphere is great and there was a sitar player tonight. You get a lot of food for your money. Ask for it spicy and get the Vegetarian Thali platter.

best indian restaurnat in nyc

I being going to Calcutta since I was 18 yrs and now Im 42 and is still the best experience ever !!!! ,my compliments to the chef and waiter
