    consistently excellent

My husband and I have been eating here for 10 years and the food quality and service is always great. Ali and the rest of the staff are incredibly friendly, always wave at us when we walk by and remember our favorite dishes. The food is always fantastic, we've never had a single mediocre experience. Always excellent.

Good food, quiet place easy on the wallet

This is a great place for a tasty, inexpensive meal. It's quiet -- a rariety in a restaurant in this neighborhood (you can actually have a conversation without SHOUTING!) -- and the food is consistently good. The service is very good -- polite and accommodating. They'll let you design your own dish, even. Is it the spiffiest place around? No. But it does what it is trying to do very well. (Wheelchair accessible too.) As for delivery, it is quick and the food is warm when it arrives, and as good as in the restaurant.

    pita "naan"?

the indian offerings in the neighborhood are bad, but this place takes the cake! my "naan" was definitely pita bread! inexcusable! the saag paneer was watery and still tasted like frozen spinach. yes, they offer quick delivery, but it is definitely NOT worth it.

    Soothing atmosphere, yummy food

This place is a balm to the soul--quiet, comforting, and so is the food! I've never had a bad meal here, and I come often as I live in the 'hood. Recently met a friend there who'd never been and she loved it too. Ali does a great job, and the waitstaff is courteous and very professional for a neighborhood place.

I Drive In From Westchester to Eat Here

I used to live in the neighborhood and ate here at least once a week. I wasn't always a great fan of Indian food because of my extremely tender palate, and most Indian restaurants do not understand the concept of mild. Here the owner, Ali, and staff are extremely accommodating (and endearing) and will make any dish in a way I can eat it, or recommend something similar. And in a City where you remain a stranger in places you frequent on a daily basis, here they know your names and your children's names and how you like your food. When I want Indian food I drive in from Westchester. Oh -- and the prices are reasonable!

    Rare value in the neighborhood

This place has been an old standby. It provides a sanctuary from the rowdy (and drunk) college kids that abound, especially on the weekends. The servers are very nice and the food is usually above average. This place also offers a brunch all-you-can-eat buffet which is an OUTSTANDING value.
