"We do apologize but we are out of cakes." How can this be, when you are known as the Cake Man of Brooklyn? Twice in the last 3 Sundays, this place has been out of cakes with 4 hours remaining until closing (if 10pm is your closing time). Ugh...

$6 for a slice of red velvet. The cake was dry, and the icing was way too sweet. Definitely not worth it.

Cakes, pies and cookies are excellent. Price could be better but if you're looking for some place where you think the staff is intelligent and at trained in the basics of customer service (i.e. don't give attitude to buying customers for no reason, don't talk to random people about your personal problems, wear appropriate clothing at work, don't hiss your teeth at people cause it's late and you wanna go home)...then this may not be the place for you. While I'm the first to say, this is one of my favorite dessert places, they will never get an 100% rating from me cause everytime I go in there, the sales lady is acting crazy.

The service here is subpar. I called in to order a cake on a Wednesday for the following Sunday. When someone finally answered the phone, I was told that they couldn't take my order today, but my order could be taken tomorrow and it would be ready for Sunday. My name and phone number were taken and I was to expect a call back the next day. I hadn't received a call by 3pm, so I decided to call in. When someone finally answered again, I explained my situation from yesterday and was told that the order could in fact NOT be placed today, and "they don't know who I spoke with yesterday" so they could do nothing for me. On top of this, the woman on the phone I spoke with today was extremely rude and unaccommodating.

Ordered a cake 1 week in advance for a birthday. First, I had to have an appointment to pick up my cake. I told the bakery I would pick it up the next day after my appointment - they said that was fine, and it would just be a day old waiting in the shop. When I arrived at the shop, nothing was there. They said they had no idea where my cake was, said to wait 45 minutes for the factory to bring it over. Waited an hour, still no cake. They even said that they had the same type of cake waiting in the shop for someone picking it up later in the day, and I asked to have that one, and have the factory bring over a new one to replace it. They refused, and acted like I was worthless. This place would have so much potential with a few good managers. Save your money, and the aggrevation. No red velvet is worth this.

I even live in Brooklyn and I won't go back. The red velvet cake was okay but the service was not...a surly teen who was too busy chatting with her friends that were blocking the counter. I didn't get a 'hello' or even a 'thank you'. She was so rude that I will never go back!!

Cake Man Raven had a good head start in this business because their are no bakery's in this area. He also made a good cake when he started but I think the demand got to big for him and the quality went downhill. The red velvet cake is not all good, I've had box cake that taste better....I guess he's spending to much time making short cuts to meet the demand and he hires youth to run the place that seem to need supervision. Cake Man take some advice, go back to being the baker that won you all those awards.....you've lost that personal touch you had when you started.......
