OK so I was in the Cafeteria Friday night and despite the rainy weather it was packed! Some of the more brave people huddled under the awnings in the outside seating and ate. I decided to take my food to go, Chicken and Waffle. I could smell the aroma of the food thru the containers and Cafeteria bag as I walked up 7th ave. to 34th st. About half way to 34th st. I couldn't take it anymore!! I think I was on the corner of 28th and 7th, with two bags in one hand and umbrella in the other, I tore into that chicken!! LOL...OMG it was soooo freaking good; finger licking good. Nicely seasoned & tender and the Waffle was mmm mmmm good. I think I've found a new after work spot for dinner. MMmmmm!

My friends and I came here after a very long night out for some late night drunk food. There was a bit of a wait for a table, about 20 minutes, but it was Saturday night at 4am. Once we were seated, the super cute waiter came right over to our table to take our order. We shared a mac and cheese that was killer! I had a burger that totally soaked up the alcohol. This place really keeps the party going till it's time to stumble home and crash. We will def be back!

Food, service & atmosphere! Our party of three was seated immediately on a busy Tuesday night. We were psyched b/c it was so crowded and we thought we'd have to wait. The music & crowd weren't too loud to enjoy conversation at the table though. The service was prompt & not excessive. Our dishes - spinach & artichoke and mac & cheese apps, burgers all around, and fried oreo dessert were all fantastic. I consider myself to be a tough critic and Cafeteria was a pleasant surprise.

I've reviewed restaurants professionally and there are many reasons to steer clear of this place. First, this is really not much more than trumped up diner food, often over cooked. Second, the management is down right offensive and the turnover of wait staff constant. The noise level is off the charts. It is one of the few late spots in my neighborhood, so I endured for awhile. But, no more!

Tomato Basil soup was perfect! Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with Blueberrier - same. Basic stuff done well.

Loud euro-trendyish place serving comfort food best eaten between the hours of 1am-4am. The food is only ok and some dishes are really greasy. Would never go for a proper dinner or brunch but will probably be back next time I'm seeking mac and cheese at 3am in chelsea.
