Bring patience
We just had a very mixed experience at Cefeteria: It is understandable that a place will have a 20-30 min wait on a busy night, but while we were waiting at the bar, we could not help but notice empty tables that were being filled in slow motion. The slowness continued when we found ourselves in a nomansland surrounded by 3 servers who cleraly did not think we were sitting at "their" table. Slow service continued, and when we complained, the waiter answered in a snippy tone: "Well, that's what happens when you get an appetizer". Water and drinks were never refilled, the salad was drenched in vinegar, because half of the dressing (which was sitting on the side) had found its way into it anyway. When we finaly wanted to pay, I ended up having to go to the cash register, because nobody wanted to pick up our credit card after a good 10 minutes. The food? The Mac attack was remarkably good, the burger was juicy, but we ended up spending more than 2h to have a shared appetizer, a burger and a salad.

OMG
The place is wretched living on past...way past..glories. The service is completely indifferent. Definitely an idea whose time has gone.

excellent
a friend brought me here for dinner. we got there and they said the wait would be ~45 min. the table next to us had the mac and cheese egg rolls. when i saw the woman there orgasm in her mouth, i decided that we had to try them also and they were fantastic, esp with the tasty cheese dipping sauce. i then split the fried chicken and waffle and the short rib tacos (is there any other way to do it at a restaurant with so many delicious things on the menu but to split!?). the portions were enormous. though not a self-described connoseur, the chicken was high quality and tasty. the tacos were my favorite - full of flavor. service was also stellar...especially the water refiller who doesn't let your glass get below 2/3 full. will definitely be back.

Best Burgers/Mac n Cheese!
I always seem to be satisfied with this convenient little spot. If you want a thick juicy burger this is the place to go. The Mac n Cheese tastings of all 3 are a good way to impress new friends in town. Service has always been great. Although it is loud, which I still can't figure out why....it's more of a fun bar/restaurant than just a restaurant. I love this place for it's service, food, and quality. This is the little place I take my friends in town to show off. :)

Not happy
This is the second time that i come here and both times have been mediocre. The burgers are kinda dry and so are the buns and you usually can not mess up burgers. The place is beautiful but inside is really loud and it makes it hard to hear each other if you're looking for a place where you can talk to one another. The prices are reasonable for NYC restaurants but the waitress the last time i went wasnt really all that friendly until it was check time. I'll try anywhere twice really but i doubt i'll be coming here again.

The hostess is hot and friendly
We were there one Saturday for lunch. It was very crowded and we wanted to leave. A gorgeous hostess named Chelsea encouraged us to stay and try the food. If we had not met Chelsea at the door, we would have left. The food was ok and the waiter was friendly, but too busy to give us much attention.
