Great food, reasonably priced
Food is awesome, drinks are great. My friends and I go all the time. For new york prices, this place is reasonably priced.

Good eats
i used to live in soho and found cafeteria to be a great place to go for fine food with a fun atmosphere. And if you know the great restarants in soho, that's saying something. I don't know anyone who goes here "to be seen," or to be "hip," those reviews are probably a bit off. Just for the record, the best pork chop i ever had was at cafeteria (the blue mill's was a close second). Drinks are off the hook, and prices aren't too bad either. Definitely recommended.

The best drinks around!
The food is pretty good (the tomato soup, chicken fried steak, and mac and cheese are my favorite menu items), but I have to admit it's the drinks that keep me coming back. I usually opt for beer over cocktails, but the wildberry mojitos at this place are unstoppable. The drinks, the lively atmosphere, and late hours make it a hip place for a date.

Gee, I think I'm hip
If you want to kid yourself into thinking you are a hipster, by all means, this is the place for you. Average food served up by mediocre and haughty (why? I have no idea), and good looking staff. Most locals do not consider it a serious dining destination. Don't forget to wear either all black or all white.

Chelsea Fabulous with Poor Food
Enjoy an expensive, below average meal at this uninspired and extremely tired joint. There are many good places in NY, but this is only good if you like to be seen by other people who are also looking to be seen.

I'll keep coming back to it
Whenever I visit NYC II always try to go to Cafeteria because the food, the drinks and the atmosphere are all fantastic. I find it a very comfortable place to go and go out of my way to have a meal there.

Wow
I went for brunch, so that I could try the amazing French Toast (with fresh fruit, of course) AND the famous mac and cheese all in one sitting. Both were phenomanal. The restaurant was well lit and airy and our waitress was friendly and attentive. It was definitely one of the best meals/experiences I had during my trip to the Big Apple, and I would strongly recommend it to anyone who wants to sample some amazingly fresh, delicious comfort food in a fun and relaxed setting.
