too sweet
the restaurant is not bad. but the food is too sweet. almost everything is loaded with sugar. not recommended if you are the health-conscious type.

good value
i randomly came across this restaurant while walking on E8th and so my girlfriend and our friend said yeah lets try it. its definitely not a date spot in case ppl wanted to go here on one, we could barely here our own conversation. Crying Tiger Sushi and Pad Thai were good, i agree that the duck salad was too sweet and the tuna tartar was ok. would love to try other items on the menu. not pricey at all, definitely get your moneys worth. would enjoy going back!

disappointing
We were a group of 8 people, we had to wait one and a half hours to finally have to have worse service! We came and had to give our names to have the next free table instead a group that came after us got the next free table. We were told that those people had the table because they made a reservation a week ago when we all knew that no reservations can be made in this restaurant. When we got our table we had to hurry since the kitchen was closing and so was the the restaurant

Great for a birthday party
I brought a crowd of 10 or so people to Cafetasia back in March. The food and drinks were excellent. I'll probably go back again this March! My only complaint is that I made reservations for 8pm, and we didn't get seated until 8:30.

Do the Chicken Basil Udon.
Have never eaten at Cafetasia, but have ordered from there many times. Delivery is suspiciously fast. Food is generally tasty, but noticeably different on different nights. Skip the pad thai! No good. Try Galanga for the best crispy duck salad ever.

Hit or Miss, Poor Food Quality
The quality of food and service here is not consistent. Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's not. The worst had to be my most recent order. The shrimp was NOT cleaned or cooked properly. The veins and intestinal parts were still attached; there was actually black stringy stuff hanging off my shrimp.

Awesome!
Four years at NYU and I finally found this place. The food is amazing and beautifully presented. The dishes are unique and fresh. The service is extremely prompt (I have never waited longer than 10 minutes for my food to arrive). The atmosphere is calming and funky. Cafetasia is a great dining experience for both harried students and serious diners.
