Great environment
Great environment, very warm and inviting. The food is great, if you never experienced Thai cuisine this is the place to try it.

Poor Food, Poor Service!
After hearing rave reviews about this place from my sister, a friend and I decided to give Cafetasia a try. A mistake. We areive there, and are ignored by the staff for about 15 minutes. Since my friend and I are both visually impaired, we required assistance finding a table. Already 1star off for that. Then we were finally seated, and the waitress rudely asked us what we want. My friend had the rice lunch special, and I told the waitress, I wanted the Pad Thai, but with no eggs. Another 20 minutes, and the food arives, and my meal has eggs! I wave a waiter over, and explain to him that I spesifically requested no eggs, he takes the food away. Wait for ten minutes, and the lukewarm food is finally plunked down in front of me. And, the kicker to all of this, was that we were overcharged by about 10 dollars. Never ever coming to this place again. Didn't bother leaving a tip either.

Modern Thai
The interior has great music and ambiance. The service is fast and the waitress/waiters are nice. I think the food is good, but most Thai places in Manhattan taste alike. They have good pork chops. I would def suggest this place for a date or a group of friends/co workers.

Avoid if you take Thai seriously
This place is usually near capacity, which proves the adage " never underestimate the public's taste for the mediocre". I would highly recommend you avoid this at night, as it is all hard surfaces and the result is cacaphony. The lunch deal is what brings them in. The food is quite homogenous, most of it sweet. This place really makes one want to take a trip to Flushing and have the real thing, since it is so dumbed down American Thai.

Rude waitress
I came to this restaurant with a colleague of mine in hopes of satisfying my hunger. When we arrived we were greeted by a sweet hostess who told us that the wait time was 15 minutes. We were then escorted to our table. We ordered the early bird special which was great. Our experience here began to turn sour once we were in the middle of eating our entrée we received the check. We were very upset, because we wanted to order more drinks. We then ignored the check and continued eating our meal. The waitress we felt as if she were doing swirls around our table, in hopes of getting the check paid. When I was finished eating my meal I quickly handed her the check back and told her that we wanted two more drinks. She was very upset. Our glass of water was not ever refilled, and she was just plain rude. We decided to tip her what she deserved, based upon the level of service she provided. And it was three dollars, when we got up to leave she stopped us from exiting the restaurant and told us that the tip was too low. I was furious, how rude.
