NOTE: Their soy cheese is NOT vegan

The restaurant's soy cheese is approximately 10% casein. I don't mention this because I'm a vegan purist (I ate a bacon cheeseburger for lunch today). I just learned the hard way when my 20-month-old became sick after chowing down on their otherwise marvelous pizza. I knew my son was allergic to cow cheese. Now I know he is allergic to the Santa Rosa as well. On a more positive note, my wife and I love the pizzas here. They come loaded with fresh ingredients. The whole wheat crust is wonderful, and I just had the corn crust and really enjoyed it too.

    My favorite take out

This is by far my favorite take out establishment in New York. The food is always delicious and is always delivered extremely hot. Also, plenty of dairy-free options that are vey tasty.

    Unfriendly...Average pizza

Pizza is just average like any run of the mill pizza place in NY. Customer service is poor though when calling for delivery. There are only a handful of kosher pizza joints in NY so they figure they'll get business anyway and dont have to worry about being polite to customers.

    Great food but unfriendly atmosphere.

I love their pizza and pasta dishes!! They truly are the best. The staff is somewhat helpful. Unfortunately, I have had experiences with the owner/manager where he has been very unpleasant. I will eat there if I am in the area because the food is great but won't go out of my way.

    Best Pizza in West '90's

We have tried almost every pizza joint for delivery from Columbus to Broadway in the west 80's and 90's, since we moved uptown one year ago, and Cafe Viva is by far the best...Great crust, just the right amount of cheese, sauce, everything.....chocolate cake dessert was a little small, but delicous, pasta dishes good and plentiful...idelivery can be a little slow, though worth the wait, food always comes very hot, with a nice side of rosemary bread..it's a true find...

    Great Food, nice price

We have been eating there once per week now. We love the mushroom spinich lasange. I also stop by for a slice every so often. It is pretty much whole foods oriented, but doesn't taste like it. Friendly staff, just a nice neighborhood pizza joint with some great Mexican cooks and super food.

    Earnest, Deserving Spelt

I've been walking by this place for years. I never would have thought I would love it so much from the way it looks. They accomodate vegan, kosher, and about seven different allergies, and with such style. The cornmeal dusted pizzas are delicious--they are never stingy with ingredients. Calzones come with big hunks of garlic.
