    If You enjoy Late delivery

After waiting an hour and half for a delivery were promised in 40 minutes. We were unhappy to find that the food came cold this is rather common for this restraint. So if you enjoy cold pizza or luke warm pasta is a great choice. Otherwise there are a plethora of other choice both kosher and not that are happy to take your money and give you a product far more worth its price in that they will delver food that is both frash and timely. very sad.

    Great food, Mediocre Service

I live right around the courner from this place, and I eat there at least once a week. The food here is great. Its nutritious and tasty. The pasta portions are always huge. I recommend the penne ala vodka. The four cheese calzone is great too. I'm always a little disappointed that they charge and extra fifty cents for some maranara sauce with is a must with this calzone. The people behind the counter seem to have bad attitudes. They have a great selections of pizzas which are pretty good. I like the Azteca and the Pesto slice.

    super yummy

The pizzas here are great. We had the vegi sausage and peppers pizza on a wheat crust that tasted like the real thing. Also, we had the pesto and tomato pizza on a corn crust. It was really good. We plan to go back over and over again.

    decent food, unfriendly service

I've ordered food from Viva on multiple occasions. Their calzones are delicious, but the pasta is nothing above average, and the deserts are barely palatable. Nevertheless, they are one of the obvious vegetarian options in the area, and for a certain time, the convenience was enough to outweigh a few culinary disappointments. I would have kept on ordering from them if it weren't for the fact that their customer service is terrible. They've screwed up my delivery order several times, and each time didn't care to do anything about it. The last time I spoke to someone there, the person told me that because he was on a different shift than the person I ordered from, there was nothing that he could do. Totally rude and unhelpful. What was really infuriating, was to find out that this guy was the owner! The whole point of having a relationship with a small business is that the owner and the management take a care and interest in their regular customers. The owner of Viva obviously thinks that because his place is the only one around, people will go there no matter what. As far as I'm concerned, even going to a place with great food is not worth it if I know that I may have to deal with a jerk who won't admit a screw-up. or that my money is going to someone who couldn't care less. Might as well be getting pizza from a Sbarro's.

    Great food

I've tried so many things on the viva menu and liked all of them. Good for a regular slice of pizza, and great for all sorts of creative veggie slices and pastas. Their calzones are also great, and stuffed full of veggies, not like many others I've tried in the area. Not a nice place to sit, but great for delivery.

    Lovin' the grub

As a vegan it was nice to see that they write on the menu that the soy cheese is not vegan and label the crusts properly if they contain proteins not good for those who are celiacs. I had the zen pizza slice and a salad; it wasn't available at the time, but they made a whole one up so I could have a slice which was as good as customer service can get in my opinion. My vegetarian husband created his own which came up piping hot! It was a great, cozy place with great service and the food was delicious. Those who are from smaller meat loving places really love all the options here in New York and I love the small veg shops around town. Appreciate what you have in NY, because where I'm from it's salad or nothin'!!

    Best vegetarian option uptown

The Cafe Viva menu clearly states that there is casein in the soy cheese (how do you think it melts?) and that there is spelt flour in the corn meal crust. I have been a vegan for 12 years and only in the past 2 years has ANYONE created truly vegan cheese that melts. What world the people below me were living in is beyond me. Other than that, the pizza is great and I like knowing that my veggie pizza REALLY has never touched a piece of real pepperoni. My new favorite is the Siciliana marinara...spicy! Service sucks, but it's a pizza parlor not Candle Cafe. Plus those guys are there 7 days a week making your picky complaining Upper West Side people's kosher and vegetarian pizza. You better smile before they leave and you have to go to the East Village for a weekend slice.
