    Poor Service and Inedible Pizza

We decided to splurge on Sunday night pizza and gave the matter a lot of online research and thought to insure we would get the perfect pie. I remembered Viva from years ago as being good and healthier so we looked it up and chose the Pizza de la Nonna.... called and ordered and gave a credit card number which the guy repeated back to me. That was at 5:15 - at 6:30 we get the delivery, tip the guy and he asks for the rest of the money, no record of the card. We call Viva and they say yes, they have the card on file but hadn't charged it, did we want to? Uh... yeah, that was the whole point. So we open the box, mouths watering... the menupages menu says "Pizza De La Nonna thin square- fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, garlic, parmasan, basil & spicy sauce" What is inside the box is a 2 inch thick rectangle of dough, a small amount of cheese and sauce and at least a dozen cloves worth of chopped garlic. I love garlic, but this was insane, literally spit it out it was so bitter and gross. No basil anywhere on the pie and worst was the crust, it was burned on the edges and doughy in the center and most of all not THIN as advertised. I called once more to say I think this might not be our pizza (there was another number written on the box) and this time a woman answered and told me to get effed basically. So $30 thrown in the trash and hours to get subpar food. We ordered another pizza from Pete's which came in 20 minutes and will never order from Viva again.

    cake

I think the delivery service is just fine. I have had a delay or two but usually it will take about 40-50 mins. Just order with that time window in mind and everything will work out. The cakes are great (and vegan).

    No problem with delivery

Having read many reviews that commented on problems with delivery I was a bit concerned but Cafe Viva came through. I asked for a delivery of 5 pizzas between 7:15 and 7:30 and even though it was a tricky location (at a university), the delivery person was here at exactly 7:15. I couldn't ask for more. Best of all, the students seemed to really enjoy the pizza and given the range of options, kosher/hallal/vegan and wheat free students were all covered.

    Great food - not service

The food is what keeps this store in business. The service is not great but once you've received your food you will be happy you had patience.

    2 hours delivery!

Last night I received my pizza 2 hours after ordering it -and it was clearly reheated at least once! I called 4 times during those 2 hours and they gave as an excuse that they had too many orders. Well, if they don't hire more delivery guys, they will definitely will have less customers to worry about very soon. And in the meantime, they should give a heads up to people who order delivery during their "rush hour".

    Bad delivery experience

I have been ordering from Viva for a few months now and have experienced occasional delays (which happens), but after tonight's experience I am almost certain not to order here again. The pizza failed to arrive for over an hour and after 3 calls I finally spoke with a lady who was quite apologetic. She said that since she hadn't heard back from the delivery guy in an hour and he hadn't come back at all, she would make another pizza and send it over on the house. So far so good. The pizza arrives after another hour (so total time to delivery - 2 hours). The guy asks me for money and I tell him I was told it's on the house. He mumbles, makes a face, and gives me the pizza. The he asks for a tip. I remind him that the pizza is 2 hours late and his response "You watch what happens next time". And he walks away. I am too scared to order again - don't want any saliva in my food. I called back to tell them what happened and the man who picked up was very unconcerned (probably an employee who doesn't care). I ask to speak with the lady and she listens and apologizes again. Nice of her but I still won't order again - I don't trust the delivery service and if the management is serious about retaining business, and for the price they charge (a lot!) they should hire better people.

    If You enjoy Late delivery

After waiting an hour and half for a delivery were promised in 40 minutes. We were unhappy to find that the food came cold this is rather common for this restraint. So if you enjoy cold pizza or luke warm pasta is a great choice. Otherwise there are a plethora of other choice both kosher and not that are happy to take your money and give you a product far more worth its price in that they will delver food that is both frash and timely. very sad.
