the 30 minute delivery that took an hour and a half

they just lost a customer. called and ordered a pie and a calzone at 6:20 for delivery. asked how long it would take and was told 30 minutes. an hour and a half later still no food even after i called to find out what was taking so long. will never order from them again.

    Consistently Delicious

I've been coming to this place for a little over 12 years now, and let me say, the margherita pizza is still as delicious as the first time I ate there. I order in regularly, and it always comes within the hour, hot and perfect. Great delicacy.

I got this place on speed dial!

I do. I love this place. Better for ordering in as it's a typical small pizza joint. Food is always delish. I love the big menu. Soups always yummy. Carozza pizza is with spelt crust, love it. Penne margarita and penne alla vodka are my recs. They have food for every dietary restriction! kosher, gluten-free etc. Hope you enjoy this place as much as I do.

How to eat at Cafe Viva...

The service and delivery are both terrible. There's no getting around that. But the food is so good. Go in, get your food to go, let them scowl at you for five minutes, and then get out of there. Honestly if you let the staff take any part in your dining experience they will ruin it.

No pizza crusts are gluten free at Cafe Viva!

@Dairy and Wheat Free - the cornmeal crusts are NOT GLUTEN FREE. Please cease eating them if you are celiac. When I saw that they had "wheat free" pizza, I went in and asked about ingredients. The cornmeal crusts contain SPELT, which is well tolerated by people allergic to wheat, but full of GLUTEN, so inappropriate for celiacs. Try their pasta instead. The sauces are delicious, and you can get them over rice pasta. My husband, who is not celiac, enjoyed their regular pasta. We ordered delivery, and service was very slow. But the food arrived hot and delicious

Amazing Wheat and Dairy free Pizza's

I've been going to Cafe Viva for a few years now and just recently tried their corn crust, now that I know I have a gluten allergy. It's amazing and I was shocked to find that it actually tastes better than a wheat crust! I can eat pizza and calzones now guilt-free, now, a it's really a godsend since I am usually relegated to walking the streets of Manhattan and pining for pizza on every corner. My bf and I are addicted to the spicy marinara. This is a place that's really set up as a takeout joint with some basic no frills seating but for good tasting pizza, calzones, and pasta made with good ingredients unusual it's hard to beat Viva. They also have unusual sodas (like China Cola). Have gotten their salads (OK) and vegan desserts as well. Yum!
