Go for Sunday Brunch
We happened upon Shane's when we were headed to the Botanical Garden. We had simple breakfast meals (eggs, toast, grits, home fries). We agreed the eggs were perfect, my companion loved the toast not buttered and the super tasty home fries. It was great (but the grits needed a bit of salt and pepper). The staff was SO NICE. I have never seen people smile that much - super sweet and helpful. We didn't think the wait for our food was long. I would recommend it and return (if I am ever back up that way). Also, love their t-shirts! I wanted one, but my companions were antsy.

pretty upset
I feel sooo sorry for the Owner he is such a nice guy, has a great business but it gonna fail just because of the truly bad service. Waited soooo long for food that when it came i thought I was gonna be impressed not at all couldn't even eat.

Sweet
Came by being I have heard of the place and it was not bad. I must say the owner is a nice guy. Service was not bad and the food was great. The location is perfect. I would certainly come back with family and friends. Thanks much for the BK experience.

Best Breakfast in Town
This place is great. The food is fresh and delicious, every single time. The tables can be somewhat cramped, but aside from that, I really have very few complaints. From omelettes to home fries to blackened salmon, it's all good.

I agree...
The service needs some work, but the food is delicious. The breakfast burrito is yummy. And, I'm not sure what's up with the delivery - sometimes they deliver and sometimes they don't?

Service? What service?
Posting here because I've read the other reviews about service and they are true. I've eaten here several times, and while the food is decent and fairly priced the service is poor. The last 2 times I've gone there's been a mistake with the order, and I've had the same experience as another poster being the only one sitting down in the restaurant and having to wait 30+ minutes. Forget about checking on the customer, either. If you want something you better have a loud voice. It's a shame because this neighborhood still is mostly take out and a place like Shane's could be very successful. I'm sure it does decent business on the weekends when the crowd at the other place on the block wanders over, but they've lost me with their service, and i'm sure most of the locals feel the same way.

The only thing missing...
Yep, it's the service! I've lived in the neighborhood, half a block from Shane's for about 3 years... i.e. almost as long as they've been open. I never write these things, but my hope is that some owner/manager of Shane's might read these reviews and take the calls for better service seriously. Because, seriously, that's what this place is desperately missing - good service. The food is good, price is reasonable, atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant... but service is nonexistent! It's not that the folks are mean, in fact, they're really nice and pleasant. They're just absent... Completely unaware of the customer. You have to get up and flag someone down if you want anything... and then flag them down again to remind them. These folks need a lesson in service... or perhaps Shane's just needs to hire people who are interested in service jobs. Tom's Diner has folks lined around the block all the time... and not because the food is so good it'll change your life. But because of the experience that folks get eating there. Shane's management should pay attention.
